"Everything alright?"

I held out my hands. "Yeah, I just…wanted to bring you this."

He arched a brow. "An empty ice bucket?"

Looking down, I realized he was right. "Oh sorry," I mumbled. "I forgot the ice."

 "Princess."

 "I'll just go—"

"Aurora." He put a hand on my wrist, and I paused. "You sure you're okay?"

"Yeah," I said and blinked. "Why wouldn't I be?"

 "You're shaking," he pointed out.

 Was I?

Looking down, I sawthat yes. Yes, I was. My whole body was filled with little quakes.

 I shook my head.

 When did that start?

"Why don't you come in and sit for a second?"

"I don't want to disturb you," I protested weakly.

He scoffed and ushered me inside. His room was an exact replica of my own.

 "Something funny?"

"Depends on your definition." Felix and I sat on the small sofa. He still held my hand, weaving his fingers slowlywith mine. "When you got here, I was about to come check on you."

 My breath caught. "Really?"

 "Yeah, couldn't sleep."

 "Me neither," I said.

Turning our hands, my eyes moved over his bruised knuckles, and I winced.

 "Areyouokay?"

Felix shrugged like it was nothing. "Yeah."

 "But your hand…"

 "Will be fine."

I gently touched his reddened skin, careful not to injure him further.

 "Does it hurt?" I asked.

"Nah," he said, "I've had worse."

Though he delivered the words convincingly, I couldn't stop staring. It hurt me to see him like this, to know I was the cause.I knew he had to be in pain. That man who wouldn't take no for ananswer was really to blame. I knew that deep down. But I still felt guilty.
