"Fun ways," he added, throwing me a small grin.
Dang.
The playful words, thetilt of his lips. Note to self: In addition to pushups and frowning sexily, Bo was also an expert at flirting. Who knew?
Scarlett shook her head. "Oh please, don't stop on my account."
"Maybe later," I said with a flick of my wrist. "I can't be distracted right now. Lunch is almost over."
Reaching into my bag, I pulled out my lunch. Thecinnamon rollwas calling my name. But before I had lifted the first forkful to my mouth, I felt Bo's stare. He watched as I slowly brought the bite to mylips.
"What…what's that?" he asked.
"Only the best thing ever, a soft, sweet, perfectly cooked cinnamon roll," I said.
Bo was practically drooling as I placed the food into my mouth and chewed, closing my eyes.
"Umm."
When I reopened them, he was still staring.
"Would you like a bite?" I asked.
"No, no. I shouldn't," he said, but Bo was learning forward. I didn't think he knew he was doing it—but he was. "Too much sugar. Not enough nutritional value."
"Are you sure?" I put a good-sized bite on my fork and brought it closer to him. "Even though I made them this morning, it's still kinda warm."
"Is it?"
"Yeah."
"Smells good."
"One bite, Stryker."
"But I don't…"
"On second thought, maybe you're right," I said, drawing the fork back, nearly laughing at Bo's scowl. "You'll have to run off all those calories later or your abs might disappear."
Frowning, Bo wrapped his hand around my wrist and brought the fork back to his lips.
"My abs are solid," he said. "I'll prove it to you later if you want."
Ooh yes, please.
He took the bite into his mouth, groaning as the sugar hit his tongue, chewing so slowly, savoring the sweetlike it was a little piece of heaven. After he swallowed, his eyelids flipped open, and his gaze landed on mine.
"You made that?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"It's worth the calories."
"Thank you." On reflex,I reached forward to wipe the side of his lip then stopped with my hand hanging awkwardly between us. "You've got sugar right there."
Bo turned his head, letting me brush the side of his face, but when he turned back, his eyes were burning with something.
"I gotta go," he said almost to himself.
