There was something in his face that looked determined.

And maybe even the slightest bit hungry.

In the back of my mind, it registered that, at some point, he must've come around the desk.

Technically, only employees were allowed to be back here. I was just about to tell him that when Bo said…

"You really are an idiot, Leif."

His eyes stayed on mine.

"Why would she want you when she already has a boyfriend?"

Gentle fingers slid into my hair, his other hand tilted my chin up as he leaned down, and before I could do more than gasp, Bo Stryker was kissing me.

His lips met mine without hesitation.

Confident, slick, soft yet firm.

Bo kissed me like he knew my mouth and wanted to teach me a lesson or two.

And I was more than eager to learn.

When I kissed him back, Bo made a sound deep in his throat. He pulled me closer—or I moved closer because the next thing I knew I was pressed against his chest.Tugging on his neck, I dragged himdown to my level, and he deepened the kiss.

My knees suddenly went weak.

I was scared I might fall…

…but Bo was there, lifting me up and up, until my feet left the floor.

Good Lord.

Was this really happening?

Bo nipped at the corner of my mouth, making me gasp, and I knew.

I was kissing my grumpy neighbor and loving every toe-curling second.

Why hadn't I done this sooner?

The sound of the bell over the door made us both freeze, our eyes snapping open.

Bo pulled back, his lips leaving mine as he lowered me back to my feet and straightened to his full height.

He cleared his throat.

I couldn’t stop staring at him.

"I think Leif left," Bo said.

My brain was slow to start working again.

"He's a jerk. Don't worry about him."

I wasn't worried. The reality of what happened was just beginning to set in, and as it did, my brow furrowed. Stunned, I thought. That's what I was feeling. Dazed, confused, and just stunned.

Bo was frowning at me. "You okay?" he asked.
