But it was true. Lamoreaux wrote steamy, passion-filled romantic stories. I'd enjoyed more than a few of them myself. And maybe it was a bit judgy, but I just couldn't picture the icy, no-laughs-ever Bo reading romcoms about sexy cowboys/billionaires/bad boys and the fierce women who bring them to their knees.

When Bo first started coming in with his little lists of steamy books, Ithought he was doing it just to fluster me. I still kind of thought that, but…it had been months, and he really did check out a lot of romance—especially for ateenage boy.

"You gonna show me where the books are or what?" he said in that deep voice.

I closed my eyes on a sigh. "We've discussed this, Bo.You know where the fiction section is."

"I'm not sure I remember," Bo said.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "You're enjoying this way too much."

"Am I?"

"If you want someone to show you where these specific books are, I'm sure one of my colleagues would be more than willing to help," I said.

Natalia was just beginning to nod when Bo shook his head.

"Or you know, you could go there by yourself," I suggested.

"I want you, Kent."

Those words did strange things to me, made my stomach flutter and heart flip, as did his lips which were once again turned down at the corners.

Well.

That answered that question.

Frowns could indeed be sexy.

Such was the case with Bo Stryker.

His frown was sexy and so were his words—even if I knew I was taking them completely out of context.

But I had to resist at all costs.Because again, the guy was my enemy. Always hadbeen. Always wouldbe.Hence the stern frown and merciless teasing.

"It's a big library," he added. "I might get lost."

Bo lifted a brow, giving me his patented glare.

"Isn't it your job to help people?"

"Fine," I said. With a sigh, still smiling for all I was worth,I moved around the counter. "But we both knowyou know your way around. You never check outanything except romance and horticulture anyway. The fact that you work at the flower shop across the street is honestly adorable."

His jaw ticked in what looked like a mix of annoyance and amusement.

"Nice of you to notice," he said."I didn't know you paid attention to my reading habits."

"I don't—"

"Good to know you care, Kent."He lifted a brow. "And that you think I'm adorable."

Gah, he was annoying.

Before I could sayanything back, the bell above the door announced another visitor. This time it wasAddison DuPont, a girl from our senior class, one I was pretty sure had the hots for Bo.

"Bo baby, I've been looking all overfor you," she said and took his hand. "Come on, we need to have an important chat."

Bo grumbled something but allowed her to pull him along. Either that orshe was packing superhuman strength. As I watched them walk away, a real smile ate up my face—thank you, Addison—until I turned tomy friends. The conspiratorial looks on their faces couldn't mean anything good.
