On our way to deliver happiness to someone else.

CHAPTER 10

"I can't believe that last guy tipped you."

I flashed my teeth at Bo. "Why not? I'm awesome."

He grumbled, "No one does that."

"Well, he did," I said, pulling out my ten-dollar bill and giving it a kiss.

We'd just completed our final delivery of the day and were in the van, driving back to the flower shop. Bo was in the driver's seat, and I was riding shotgun. Despite his surliness, it had beena surprisingly pleasant trip.

"Mr. Willard and I had a good talk," I added. "Did you know he walks to the park every day to feed the birds? He even invited me to go sometime. How sweet is that?"

Bo rolled his eyes.

"What?"

"He was hitting on you," he said.

"Stryker, please. He was like80-years-old."

"And?"

I paused."Though now that you mention it, he did say he used to be aladies man…" Shaking my head, I sniffed as Bokept his eyes on the road. "You're just mad because I got this little beauty, and you didn't."

I kissed the bill again then stuck it in my pocket.

"Do you know how many germs are on that?" he asked.

I scoffed. "There can't be that many."

"Yeah Kent, there can," he said. "Money is one of the dirtiest items we touchdaily."

Crossing my arms, I hmphed.

"Look it up if you don't believe me."

I did believe him.

That was the problem.

I was actually regretting kissing the money as my mind pictured all the hands that'd touched it. Some of them likely unwashed. Ewww. I knew I'd end up brushing my teeth extra tonight even if it wouldn't do any good.

"I'm not looking it up," I muttered.

"Because you know I'm right," he said back.

Bo's voice was smug.

Jerk.

After surreptitiously wiping my mouth with the back of my hand, I changed the subject.

"So," I said, "which was your favorite delivery?"

Bo was silent a moment then, "I liked the woman who yelled at us."
