Climbing out of my car I hear a loud whistle and catch Aurora and Jace walking toward me. “Damn,” Aurora says. “You got a hot date after this?”
“No,” I say with a shrug. “A girl can’t get fixed up every once in a while?”
She leans in hugs me and kisses my cheek. “You look hot,” she whispers and I can’t help but smile.
Together the three of us walk up the sidewalk and Jace beats on the door. Oliver opens it a few minutes later, a beer in hand and a smile. “Please. Come on in.” He waves us past and instantly I can tell he is already feeling really damn good. “Drinks over there, food there and well,” he holds out his hands at his sides, “I’m the fucking party.” He hoots making everyone laugh.
I can practically feel his eyes on me, before I see him. I swear the temperature of the room changes. The heat in my neck, my cheeks, it slowly overtakes me and I feel my nipples harden against the material of my shirt.
The things he did to me last night and well into the morning. Jesus my body is still humming from his touch. I’ve never been with a man like Zac. A man that knows exactly when and where to touch me. A man that takes so much time ensuring that I get all I need and more before he races across the finish line for his own.
It’s insane. Such an incredible experience every single time.
“Well, damn.” I am caught off guard when Bree and Luna rush in. Luna wraps me in a hug. “I feel so underdressed.”
She is wearing leather pants, a tank, and boots. She is badass chic if I’ve ever seen it. The woman could wear a paper bag and look amazing. I think it’s her confidence that adds the extra punch, she is killer in all she does. She owns the room the minutes she enters it, and I’ve always been envious of her strength.
“I love this top.” Bree too offers a hug and I take a minute to glance over in the direction I know Zac is in. I find him watching me, drinking a beer as his eyes scan over me from head to toe. The heat, a familiar look I’ve picked up on lately whenever his thoughts are dirty.
“What the hell is this thing, Zac?” Daxton peeks inside the fort.
“Back the fuck out of there,” Zac’s quick to react. “That’s Gray’s fort,” he tells everyone and sounds so proud. It’s sweet, and I quickly glance away when he looks back toward me.
The way my body instantly reacts to his is something I can’t seem to control. I wish I could drink, needing something to tame my nerves and desires.
“Oh my God!” Aurora screeches loudly and my entire body jerks in reaction to her tone. “You two are totally doing it.”
I feel the heat in my cheeks, only this time it is for an entirely different reason. Attempting to tuck my chin toward my chest and move away, I fail when she grabs my shoulders and drags me off. Bree and Luna follow close behind and I can feel an intervention, lecture, or whatever you want to call it coming in fast.
“Oh my God! You are!” Aurora bounces up and down, whisper yelling for which I am thankful. “You and Zac are totally doing it!”
“Will you stop?” I try to hush her and she laughs.
“He has been a little relaxed lately, almost chill,” Luna says with a snicker. “Now I get it.”
“Wow.” I cover my face with my hands and send up a silent plea they stop. “It’s casual, that is it, it’s nothing serious.”
They all three stop smiling and put on their serious faces. My stomach tightens and I know this all just took a completely different turn than I’d hoped for the night. “You are having a kid together and having repeated sex,” Bree announces, and not quietly. “That is not causal.”
“It’s the hormones,” I try to brush off their concern. “He offered to help me scratch the itch, so I’m not about to say no.”
“Wow! This is going to get messy,” Luna states with a laugh.
“No it’s not, we are having a good time. And it is really, really good so.” I shrug.
“Eww, no!” Luna shakes her head and starts to back away. “Some thing’s I can go without knowing. Details are not needed, please.
“But he does this thing with his hips, kinda like a?—”
“No!” She doesn’t stick around, spinning on her heels and hurrying off with Bree following closely behind.
I am left with Aurora and her concerned looks. “What?”
“I love you both.” She worries her lip.
“It’s okay.” I wish I could start the night over and somehow avoid this very discussion.
“I see this blowing up.” Aurora has always looked out for me, even when I tell her not to.
