I needed to quiet the voice in my head that said I deserved only the worst things in life, but it was hard to unlearn everything, even when I was shown each and every day how much I was loved.
While those evil thoughts were subsiding and working with the therapist, it was still taking time.
That was when Walter trotted into the room. He had a bandana that matched the boys’ jackets. I was about to question Terry about what was going on when I realized something was in the overgrown puppy’s mouth.
“Walter, come here,” I called out.
The puppy walked up to me and sat down as if he had some prize in his mouth. “Drop it,” I instructed.
I reached forward to catch whatever was in the dog’s mouth. He dropped a jewelry box.
Terry glided forward, went down onto one knee, and practically shooed his dog out of the way. Walter licked Terry’s ears as Terry looked intently up at me with the most loving eyes. “I wanted to do this once before but didn’t have the opportunity to do so. Now, I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you and Eric. Let’s make everything official. Will you make me the happiest man alive by becoming my wife?”
Chapter 39
Scuba
WakingupnexttoAnnie’s naked body, I pulled her close enough for her to feel my rock-hard dick. It didn’t matter how often we had sex. I wanted more.
It wasn’t just sexual desire. I wanted to be married to her now. I wanted to wake up with her as my wife.
Annie pushed against the bed with her arm. I wasn’t ready for her to leave our bed and start walking dogs, so I pinned her down onto the bed and looked her in the eyes.
“I know you’re going to say it’s insane, but what do you think about the idea of getting married a month from now?”
At least I said thirty days from now. If I thought it was at all possible, it would be tomorrow.
Annie just blinked at me, which was a great start since I knew if she didn’t shut everything down right away, I had a chance.
If she said fuck off or even no, I would have honored it.
At least for a little bit. Then I would ask her again.
She would never tell me to fuck off, thanks to her asshole ex. I was still pissed at the fact that he beat her up to the point where she became so submissive. At least she would still tell me no if I was being too much, and I realized how important each and every no was for her.
I kept staring at her, trying to will her to see things my way and to want to get married super quickly.
She turned her head and pondered, “Isn’t that playoffs?”
I nodded, but I didn’t care. It was early on in the playoffs before all the lockdowns happened, and we couldn’t do anything fun. Our wedding could be the one big blowout before we all had to be confined to hotel rooms and couldn’t go out at all.
“Yeah. We have just enough time to do it before things get too crazy, and we can’t do anything fun.”
She tilted her head and considered what I said. Then, she pushed a lock of my hair behind my ear and said, “You do realize that if we do it in less than a month’s time, it can’t be extra.”
I nodded. I was still going to get as much of the fun stuff as possible. We could totally get a photo booth, lots of alcohol, good food, and a marriage license.
“Here’s the thing. As long as I get to spend the rest of my life calling you my wife, I don’t care. I seriously want to spend every day of my life with you, and I want the world to know you’re mine.”
She blushed and looked away from me when I knew she was going to say yes. I just had to give her the space to say yes.
She closed her eyes and shook her head. “This is insane, but sure. We can get married in a month’s time, but you’re in charge of the whole shindig.”
That was music to my ears. I would gladly plan the wedding, and it would be epic even if it were planned with so little time.
Now, I wanted to have sex with her.
