Jonathan seized the moment to put his jeans on.

Beau lifted his hand. “The girls are out at the Van Helsing estate. Marcy made it clear to Craig that the guests she was expecting were to be brought straight there. Honestly, it took all I had to get Mina there.” He rubbed her upper arm. “She’s meaner than I remember her being in college.”

Mina grinned. “Thanks.”

Beau laughed. “And you pinch a lot more.”

She winked and then looked toward her sister. “The girls are out there with Craig, some other people, and some crazy chick who seemed harmless enough and who has a pet squirrel, which the girls loved instantly.”

“Marcy,” added Beau. “Dwayne is back from visiting with Kellan too. He was getting in as I got there with everyone. He’s staying with the girls. Plus, Elis and Austin are out at the estate right now too. And Bram.”

“He’d be the vampire I met?” asked Mina, glancing at Beau.

Willa shook her head a bit. “I really cannot believe so many people I knew in college totally get what supernaturals are. Astria, Craig, Beau, and who knows who else.”

“Astria?” asked Mina.

“Yep. But she doesn’t know I’m a wolf-shifter,” said Willa.

Beau jerked. “Wait, you’re a shifter? Really?”

Mina eyed him. “Got a problem with that?”

“Pfft, no. One of my best friends is one,” he said, nodding to Jonathan. “His great-great-add-a-bunch-more-greats nephew is one. Y’all know him from college. Kellan Harker.”

Willa twisted around to face Jonathan. “Kellan is related to you, and he’s a wolf-shifter too?”

“Yes, on both counts,” said Jonathan.

Mina gasped. “Kellan is Hannah’s father, isn’t he? She has his eyes. Why didn’t I see it sooner?”

Beau couldn’t have looked more shocked if he tried. “He has a teenage daughter? And he banged your sister?”

“No!” Jonathan shouted with a snarl, stepping around his mate and puffing his chest. “He most certainly did not touch Willa. And he is not Hannah’s father. I am.”

Two sharp intakes of air came from behind Beau and Mina. They spun around to reveal two teenage girls standing just inside the cave opening with damp hair and stunned expressions on their faces.

Jonathan didn’t need to be told that one of the young women was Hannah. The second he looked at the girl with long dark brown hair, standing there, staring at him from one brown eye and one green eye, he knew. His wolf pushed up more from within, causing his eyes to change. He sniffed the air and instantly recognized her scent, as if he’d smelled it a thousand times before. He hadn’t, yet his wolf instantly knew her to be family—to be their child.

Her eyes flashed as well, and she stepped closer to the other girl.

“Hannah,” said the other girl, taking Hannah’s hand in hers. “You okay?”

“He’s my father?” asked Hannah, disbelief in her voice.

Willa let out a sob and tried to go for her. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know, or I’d have told you years ago.”

Jonathan caught her arm lightly. “Willa.”

She glanced at him, and he saw the tears welling in her eyes.

He drew her closer and cupped her cheek with one hand as he gazed down at her beautiful face. “She’s not mad. She’s surprised. I can sense it in her. She’s pack, and she’s family.”

“Mom, you didn’t know who my father was?” asked Hannah. “I thought you just didn’t want to tell me. How did you not know?”

“Remember me telling you about how your mom couldn’t remember things she did when she was shifted for the first few years?” asked Mina.

Hannah nodded.
