It ended to soon. It was supposed to last for eternity. Giovanni was spent. There was nothing left of him. He fought back his tears. Alone and in private he shed many of them. Questioned his manhood and his purpose. Now he was back and powerless. Would she love him the same?
“I forgive you,” she said.
He’d never needed to hear those words more desperately. He lifted his head and stared into her eyes. “We’ll get it all back Bella. All of it.”
“I don’t want it,” she said. “I never did. I only wanted you.”
He nodded.
He rested on her breast and his cock slipped out of her.
“I only wanted you too,” he said.
They slept, woke and talked for the rest of the evening about everything. He shared the conflict he suffered the first year. How he strategized to reveal himself to her. But none of his plans worked, so he focused on helping Dominic reclaim control of the Camorra as he extended his power in Sicily. She listened and accepted his apologies but he knew the road to healing would be a long one. Because when he woke the next morning she was gone. So were the pills on the floor. She’d taken them and run from him.
Some scars needed more love and care than others.
He dressed left the beach house and was greeted by men that had now chosen a side between him and his wife.
“Where is she?” he asked.
“She had the gun with her, she went into the villa and has locked herself away in one of the rooms.
Giovanni sighed.
“Boss, we haven’t seen her like this in a long time.”
“It’s okay. Keep everyone from the house.”
“She has her gun boss.”
“I know. She’s my wife. I’ll help her. Stay away from the inside of the house until I send for you.”
The men looked at each other and then nodded their respect. Giovanni limped back up the beach with his bum leg. He had a life to save. He’d not give up until he had his Bella again, at any cost.
Three months later –
Verneuil-sur-seine, France

“ARE YOU NERVOUS?” NICOasked.
Mirabella stopped pacing but kept turning and twisting her wedding ring on her finger. She looked over to him with a sad smile. “Gio wanted to be here. We had the worst fight. Three months is too long we should have told her as soon as we told the kids he was alive.”
Nico nodded in agreement.
“He’s stuck in Cuba. It’s not your fault that he has to remain hidden from the world,” Nico reminded her.
“But what about Eve, how do I tell her? How?”
Nico sighed. “I’m not sure, you know how much she loves Giovanni. I think taking her out of the school and bringing her to Cuba is the first start.”
“Yes, I agree, so does Gio. We bring her to Cuba.”
“Are you going to live in Cuba? With him?” Nico asked.
“Dominic said no. It’s too hard. He said I can visit but we can’t live there. Not yet. Not enough time has passed.”
