Everyone has the right to say no, even club pussy. They just don’t last long if their nos outweigh their yeses. With that knowledge, my brain knows she’s in zero danger, but my heart is pounding all the same.
I need to get the situation in hand, but I can’t stand the sight before me. Instead of using my words to move my brother, I step in and shove him away. Bending, I pick up the towel and hand it back to her without taking my eyes off Cowboy. I can feel the slight tremble in her fingers when she takes it from me.
“First, she didn’t seem happy to make your acquaintance just yet. Second, she’s not club property.”
“Not yet.” He licks his lips. “But she definitely has my vote.”
“Not ever,” I grit out between clenched teeth.
“What? Last night was all about recruiting.” He pauses and I know before he finishes the thought, I’m completely fucked. “Oh shit, veep. She’s that good, is she?”
Her delicate hands shove at my shielding back. I allow her to move me. Without turning, I know I’m about to get a tongue-lashing. I can feel the anger rolling off her. Closing my eyes, I brace for her rage.
However, when she speaks, it isn’t the anger that shreds my soul, it’s the disappointment.
“So, you were out recruiting club girls and you found Faith and me and thought we fit the bill?” It’s phrased as a question, but it’s anything but.
“That’s not it, love.”
She crosses her arms over her chest, pushing her luscious tits over the top of the towel that’s now back in place. My eyes drop immediately.
“Oh, it’s not?” There’s an element of feigned innocence in her voice that I know I’ll have to pay for heavily if I have any shot of making our hookups more regular. That’s all my brain will allow as a possibility at the moment. “Then, love.” She purrs the word but with venom at the same time, which is unsettling at best. “What’s my name, pray tell?”
She’s haughty and vulnerable, and seductress and ice queen and a million other things all rolled into one, and I go hard as fuck at the thought of taming her…just a little bit though.
It’s obvious her thoughts do not mirror my own. I’m in my head, running through all the ways I’m going to punish and reward her, when Cowboy’s booming laughter rips me from my thoughts and back to the matter at hand. Staring into the pissed off…and hurt hazel eyes that already mean a little more to me than they should, I curse.
“Fuck.”
I’m a fucking idiot.
Instead of storming from the kitchen, as I’d expect from any other woman, she tilts her wrist, taking in her smartwatch.
“Don’t look so terrified. I’m not going to show up on your doorstep like a lovesick puppy. We both knew what this was going in. You spelled it out for me, right, Buddy? Of course, you knew more than me, but whatever, the dick was good, so no harm, no foul. Which way to the laundry room?”
Cowboy and I both point to the door in the back of the kitchen. “Through there, straight ahead.”
She turns, but before leaving the kitchen, she drops the towel with zero shame. “It’s Krystal, by the way.” She steps through, leaving the door swishing and softly swinging in her wake.
Cowboy barks with another bout of laughter. “Fuck, you sure we can’t keep her, veep? Shit, I’ll make her my ol’ lady right now if she’ll have me.”
I turn a murderous gaze on my brother.
Krystal’s disembodied voice cuts through the air.
“Thanks for the compliment, big guy, but I have to jet. I have less than an hour to be presentable and sell some books.”
Listening closely, I hear the laundry room door finally open, and I turn on my brother.
He throws his hands up in surrender before I even get a word out. “Just joking, veep. I can tell you’re already pussy intoxicated.”
“I don’t get pussy drunk.” My reply is grumpy but without conviction.
“If you say so. But I’d say you’re more than halfway to a full-blown addiction after one fucking night. If you don’t lock it down, I can guaranfuckingtee you I’ll shoot my shot.”
Before I can throat punch the fucker, Krystal emerges from the laundry room in clean, crisp white jeans and the shirt she was wearing last night.
“My compliments to your laundress, but I also kind of hate her. All the blood and other unmentionable fluids are completely gone.”
