“Yeah.”

“Just be patient, Trip. JJ is the best of us, and you don’t want to lose her again.”

Trip couldn’t agree more.

“So are you, Meri.”

“Of course, I am. Look, I’ve got to run. I won’t make it for breakfast. Jake called for the first time since the kids were born and wants to meet them. So, I agreed he could come drop off presents before we head over.”

Trip couldn’t swallow the growl that bubbled up from his chest. The asshole wouldn’t know his own children if he passed them on the street and now he gave a shit? Fucker. He wouldn’t upset his sister, though. Jake was her baby daddy, so it was up to her, not him.

“Pipe down with the growling. Trust me, I feel the same way, but his kids want to meet him, and I would be a shit mom to deny them just because I can’t stand the sight of him.”

“Okay, but call me the second he leaves and join us for lunch. I’ll wait and we’ll have biscuits and gravy for lunch instead. Can’t break tradition for that fuckface.”

“Ha ha, love it. See you soon, Trip.”
