“Just make sure you don’t entice anyone else with your purple bandana,” Sam said.

“Yes, Sir.” Gabriel gave him a salute before releasing his safety belt and climbing from the truck cab.

Running to the trailer, he quickly opened the door and stepped inside. Not bothering to lock the door, he raced to the bedroom and grabbed one of the sample bottles of lube he had picked up along the way. Hurrying back, he secured the trailer door and then headed for the truck stop building.

He knew it would take Sam twenty minutes or more to gas up the truck and get it moved into an out of the way position for the night, so he had time to do a little shopping.

It was a running joke that he bought something at every truck stop they visited, usually a tchotchke that would end up in a junk box in a garage, whenever he had a house with a garage. For now they went into a drawer in the bedroom. Someday he would have a big room that not only had shelves and shelves of the tchotchkes he’d bought all over the country, but would also have a wall of the awards he had, and would continue to win for his music.

For now, he was happy buying crazy little doodads because they made him smile, and these would remind him of these weeks he and Sam had spent together. The tour was over in two weeks, and he had no idea what was going to happen after that.

While money was piling up in the bank, he had no real plans for this phase of his life. He was also hesitant to bring the subject up with Sam. They were getting along better and better every day, but it still felt like there was a wall between them, and he was afraid Sam would walk away once he finished the last concert. And he had no idea how to stop him.

Keeping his ballcap and sunglasses in place, he wandered the store, finally picking out some snacks and drinks and a water bottle that had a cute saying about living your best life being the best revenge. After checking out, he went to the door to the big diesel gas pumps and checked on Sam’s progress. The big purple truck was no longer at the pumps, but was parked at the far side of the lot.

It was time to go into hiding.

Ducking into the wing marked “Truckers Only”, Gabriel looked for a possible hiding space that would also allow them the privacy for a quickie.

The laundry room had no door so it was immediately knocked off the list. Moving on to the shower area, he sighed when he found that all the individual shower rooms were occupied. That left the restrooms which were at the end of the hall.

Stepping into this area, he looked around. There were only three enclosed stalls. At least they were all empty.

Hearing footsteps coming down the hall, Gabriel ducked into the stall farthest from the door, which conveniently was also twice the size of the others. He quickly closed and locked the door before fumbling in his pocket for the bandana. Once he had it free, it took another minute to figure out how to display the fabric so Sam could see it.

He folded it up and stuffed it between the door and frame just as someone entered the room. He only hoped it was Sam and not someone else.

Stepping back, Gabriel closed his eyes, and covered his mouth to keep the giggles inside as the man began to pee. A few minutes later, water began running in a sink across the room. Then, with the water still running, someone knocked on the stall door.

“Let me in, honey. I only have a few minutes before I have to get back on the road.”

The voice did not belong to his trucker, so Gabriel took a slow breath and prayed he would go away before Sam showed up. When he did not respond, the stranger stomped away again. The running water stopped and then Gabriel listened, not breathing until the heavy footsteps faded away as the man left.

A few minutes later, more footsteps sounded, and the same events occurred, but this time, the running water in the sink stopped before the knock came at the door.

“Open up, Comet,” Sam said just loud enough for Gabriel to hear him.

Gabriel rushed to the door and threw open the lock. Pulling the door open, he grabbed Sam by an arm and pulled him in before closing and locking the door again.

“What took you so long?” he whispered, feeling the panic that had been growing in him wash away as he looked up into Sam’s face.

Sam studied Gabriel’sfear-filled expression and realized the game of hide and seek may have been more than his man could handle. He also was not sure he wanted to have sex in a public restroom, especially with so many truckers coming and going as the day ended. There was no way he wanted to share Gabriel with anyone, and he had heard more than a few stories from his brothers and other truckers about hookups turning into orgies.

“You okay, Comet?” he pulled Gabriel into his chest and hugged him tight.

“I am now. But I don’t think we should fool around in here,” Gabriel whispered into his chest.

Sam kissed the top of his head and smiled as Gabriel burrowed deeper into his body. “I was just thinking the same thing. How about we go back to the truck and play? Then we can come back and by then one of the showers should be empty.”

“I don’t know if I can walk that far. I need you now.”

Sam canted his hips forward, pressing his erection into Gabriel’s body, and realized he probably would not make it without embarrassing himself either.

“Maybe a shower room is open,” he suggested, thankful he’d had the foresight to stop and pack a bag with two towels and toiletries when he changed his work boots for a pair of sneakers.

Taking Gabriel’s hand in his, he led the way out of the restroom area and to the showers. His cock twitched with excitement when he saw that a couple of the shower rooms were now available for use.
