The twins walk into the kitchen, each wearing only a pair of sweatpants. I know they have spent much of this evening at the gym with Ryan, and another fighter Sean is considering possibly signing. He’s taking his new role seriously, but that doesn’t surprise me. He’s always been the brains of the duo, whereas Maximus has been the muscles.

“Nope. She had a great day and hasn’t stopped laughing or dancing all night,” I reply, smiling to myself as I remember how she spent the whole night on the dance floor with her friends. “It was like she didn’t have a care in the world.”

“That’s such a relief. I was sure something would play on her mind, and she’d miss out on enjoying her day.”

I look at Sean and nod. We’d all been worried about it, especially once Christian got called away. I know he would have let her know. But from what I saw in the CCTV room at the club, she didn’t let it get her down. Reaching into the fridge, I pull out another bottle of beer and offer one to each of the twins, who take them with a ‘thanks’.

“When will she be home?” Maximus asks as he takes a drink.

“Any minute. She’s the only one left in the car,” I answer. “I followed them until they dropped off the last dancer, then overtook them so I could beat her back. She has no idea I’ve been following her all day.” I didn’t think I would get away with it, especially when Verity spotted me at the spa, but she winked when I placed a finger over my lips, and they carried on as if I wasn’t there.

“Any word from Christian?” I ask, leaning back against the counter. Both twins shake their heads.

“I’m not expecting to hear from him until tomorrow. He seemed pissed and ready for blood when he stormed out of here,” Sean answers, shaking his head. “His temper is starting to get the better of him,” he adds, sharing a look with his twin before they both look at me.

“I know,” I sigh, rubbing my forehead in an attempt to relax. “He is trying, but he has always done things in his way. He has asked me to deal with a few things, though.”

“It’s a start, at least,” Maximus sighs. “I just wish he would stop taking his shit out on us.”

“It’s not like you are helping with how you speak to him,” Sean adds with raised brows.

“I only speak to him like he speaks to me,” Maximus snaps defensively.

“You are both as bad as each other, and you know it. It's always been the same with you two,” I sigh as Maximus stares at me, unable to argue.

Maximus and Christian are the most alike out of us all, and it shows by the way they collide at times. I don’t think Maximus has completely forgiven Christian for stopping him from going to Jasmine that night or for the fact he has been putting her in danger by not telling us what’s been going on. He was livid when he heard about her reaction to the security drill. He’s always been extra protective of Jasmine, but he's even worse after hearing about what she remembered from her childhood. We are all very protective of our future wife. But Maximus seems to be trying to protect her from the rest of us, and it’s causing a few arguments.

“Do you think he's tracked down Carol's old suppliers?” Sean asks nervously. From the second he woke up the morning after Jaz told us all she’d remembered, he’s been in contact with some dodgy ass bastards, asking around about who used to supply her and who was known for having a liking for kids. I have seen a couple of email exchanges on his anonymous email account with information about possible suspects.

“If he has, then I don’t think they will be around much longer,” I answer, not wanting to say anymore. Sure, we would all like to have a minute with the arseholes, but at this point, we just need them dead and buried so Jaz never has to worry about them ever again.

My phone pings in my pocket, and I know it’s the security system telling me there is activity on the driveway.

“She’s back,” I announce as I watch the limo pull up outside on my screen. Placing my phone and bottle on the side, I head towards the front door with my brothers, eager to see our girl and hear all about her day.

Opening the front door, I watch as Terry climbs out of the front passenger seat, still obviously in a lot of pain from his injuries. We’ve tried to get him to rest, but knowing that Jasmine is possibly being watched, he's taken it upon himself to be her protection alongside Layton.

“Now that’s all finished with. Will you do as you are told and rest tomorrow, knowing we will all be home?” I ask, approaching the car. Terry looks at me and smirks.

“I’ll relax once your brother is back. I have a bottle of painkillers and a bed with my name on it ready for his return.” Terry isn’t used to taking a back seat when it comes to Christian, but they decided that Terry would stay with Jasmine today, and Mykela went with Christian.

I shake my head before walking to the back of the car, where Maximus is holding the door open for Jasmine who climbs out looking radiant in her white dress.

“Princess, you look truly breathtaking,” Sean gushes as he takes her hand and kisses her knuckles.

“White certainly suits you, Shorty,” Maximus adds as he pulls her towards him before tipping her back to kiss her. Jasmine yelps before laughing as Maximus rights her again.

“You are both biased.” She slaps him on the chest before turning her attention to me. “How do you like my dress? I half expected you to charge onto the dance floor when it kept riding up.”

I stare at her for a moment before smiling. Of course, she knew I was watching. She is more observant than we give her credit for.

“How would I have known to charge anywhere?” I tease.

Jasmine walks to me with a swagger in her step. She stops when her body is flush with mine. Taking the collar of my shirt, she started playing with it whilst giving me her come-to-bed eyes.

“I know you’ve been watching me all day. You aren’t as sneaky as you like to think, Daddy.”

“Oh really? Tell me, Angel. How did you know I was watching you and not someone else?” I ask, brushing my lips gently across hers as my hand rests on her ass.
