“I wouldn’t dream of it. I know there is no way I would let Jasmine stay out that long without at least one of us with her.” I look up as Jasmine walks into the room, whispering to Verity. “Speak of the devils, and they shall appear,” I add before beckoning Jasmine to me with a finger. “Want to explain what’s been going on?” I ask as she sits on my lap and smiles at me sweetly.

“I came in earlier to tell you everything, but you were asleep.”

“I’m awake now, Sweetheart, so please fill me and Travis in.” I place the phone on the coffee table whilst activating the loudspeaker.

“Okay, so to ensure no one finds out the plans, I have asked the girls to hand their phones to Terry and tell anyone outside of the house that they will be staying with me until Friday night. You know, because I’m devastated and all that,” she grins, rolling her eyes.

“And they’ve agreed to it?”

“Of course they have; they’re my best friends,” she declares, shocked I would ever doubt they would.

“How do Verity’s Daddies and Ethan feel about it?” I ask, raising a brow.

“They don’t agree,” Verity sighs, sitting in one of the chairs that still sits by the coffee table.

“No, we do not, and you know why,” Travis warns.

“Abbi’s boyfriend is fine with it,” Verity whines. “Why can’t you be?”

“Because I’m not your boyfriend.” He could just be referring to the fact he is her Daddy, as I would never allow Jasmine to refer to any of us as her boyfriends when we first got together. Or he could mean that he’s her fiancé, which Jasmine is completely in the dark about. I look to Verity, who looks at Jasmine sheepishly, but she seems oblivious to the underlying meaning behind it.

“I understand why they are reluctant to let you stay without contact,” I explain, looking to Verity. “If it were the other way around, I wouldn’t feel comfortable with Jasmine staying away that long without contact either.”

“But why?” the two girls whine together.

“Because you have both been through a lot recently, and as your daddies, we wouldn’t be doing our jobs if we didn’t make sure someone was close on the off chance you needed them.” The girls share a look, and I know they will argue, but there’s no point. I’ve already come up with a plan.

“Travis, would you all feel better if you stayed with her?”

“I would relax a bit if one of us were there, yes,” he answers, and I get it. Only this morning, he was worried about Verity being hurt because of her association with Jasmine. Since then, she has been offhandedly attacked by her bridesmaid dress being destroyed. I still wouldn’t be surprised if he followed through on his threat and kept Verity away.

“How about all of you?” I ask, already working out sleeping arrangements.

“All of them? But Verity only has one room upstairs, and the bed isn’t big enough for them all,” Jasmine points out.

“If Terry is staying in your room, the guys can run the security quarters. There are three rooms, plus a kitchen and sitting area. They wouldn’t even have to come into the main house if they didn’t want to.” Let’s face it: I don’t think having Travis and me under one roof for four days is a good idea. We will end up killing each other before Sunday comes around.

“But where will Layton sleep?” Jasmine asks.

“There will be a spare room on the top floor with Verity not needing it. I’m sure he will be fine sleeping up there,” I shrug. “What do you think, Travis?” Verity and Jasmine stare at the phone as we hear Travis and other muffled voices. I can tell he has his hand or something over the speaker. I’m sure the twins will be happy to have them here as they can drink the days away with Ethan and Ryan.

“If they stay, will you be able to control your temper around Travis?” Jasmine asks quietly. I haven’t told her about this morning, and I doubt Verity knows either.

“We will be fine. If he gets on my nerves, I will use your body as a form of stress relief,” I whisper, nibbling at her ear as she squeaks.

“Okay, we would like to take you up on your offer,” Travis finally answers. “As long as you are happy with it?” he adds.

“Me or Verity?” I ask, smiling at Verity.

“I don’t give a fuck about you, O’Reilly. I only tolerate you because your Jasmine scares me, and I like her.”

“Awww, I like you too,” Jasmine gushes as Verity giggles behind her hand.

“Don’t worry, Donavon, the feeling is mutual,” I sigh, rolling my eyes. I lean in so my lips are by Jasmine's ear. “Until they leave, you had better avoid wearing underwear because I may be using your body a lot.” I smile as her whole body tenses, and I feel her vibrating.

“Verity, why don’t you take your phone and you and the guys can devise a plan of what you need while I talk to Jasmine for a moment.”

Verity smiles as she picks up her phone and walks out of the room, talking excitedly.
