“Come on,” he said, motioning with his head.
“Let me see if I can stand up.”
He draped the towel over his shoulder and stooped to extend his hands to help me step out.
“You feel better?” he asked as he wrapped the towel around my body.
“Much.”
“Well, come on and let me rub you down.”
“Rub me down?”
“Mm hm,” he muttered, taking the towel and drying me off.
He didn’t say anything else before escorting me to my bed and helping me lay down. That was when I realized that he had changed clothes. He smelled different too.
“You changed?”
“I didn’t want to put the same clothes on after I took a shower.”
“Damn, how long was I asleep?”
“Long enough for me to shower, change, and roll this. At least ten minutes,” he said as he helped me into bed.
I lay on my stomach and Liam sat on the side of the bed and lit the blunt that was on my nightstand and passed it to me. Eager to finish unwinding, I inhaled the smoke and closed my eyes as Liam’s hands swept up my back. I shuddered as cool drops of oil trickled onto my back.
“I’ll warm it up next time,” Liam said as he continued to work his magic fingers.
The promise of there being a next time made my heart soar.
“That feels so good,” I moaned.
“Don’t get me started back up with all that moaning, Cookie.”
“Sorry,” I giggled.
“I’m just messing with you.” He chuckled. “How are you feeling?”
“Right now? Relaxed. I could probably sleep for the rest of the night.”
“Mentally?”
“I don’t know yet.”
“Don’t think too much. Just stay in the moment,” he advised.
“I’ll try. I’m just kind of in my head.”
“You know I don’t like that. Get out of there and come out here. You know you can talk to me.”
“I’m just worried I guess.”
“About?”
“Things changing,” I confessed.
“With us? Why would they?” he quizzed.
