He found that funny. “You can’t be my person,” he said, shaking his head.

“Why not? You already said we have to work together.”

“That’s an obligation. I’m pretty sure for someone to be your person, you have to vibe with them. You don’t even like me.”

“That’s a lie. I never said I didn’t like you. I said you were an opp. That doesn’t mean I don’t like you.”

“Did you call me an opp?” He chuckled.

“Sure did. That’s short for opposition. You’re working as one of Syre’s minions.”

“I know what it means, Cookie. I’m nobody’s minion. Let’s look at it like this…I’m on your team. I’m not here to snitch on you. I’m here to protect you.”

“Protection looks different for some people.”

“Protection is keeping you safe and whatever that entails.”

“So, if I tell you I have a date?” I asked just to see what he would say.

“Then I’m coming along to keep you safe and make sure you get back here in one piece.”

“And if I want to spend the night with him or bring someone home?”

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”

“Fair enough.” I nodded.

“Now, come on and watch gray autonomy. It’s kind of getting good. Meredith, Izzy, and George are all live together. I think they’re about to have a threesome.”

Laughing, I shook my head and plopped back down on the couch.

“First, you have to learn the name of the show.”

“I don’t need to know the name to know that two women and one man equal a three way in the making. All they do is have sex. It’s only a matter of time.”

We watchedseveral episodes of Divine’s favorite show before I heard her snoring. I actually got into the show, so I didn’t bother trying to wake her up as I finished watching a few episodes solo.

After spending a few hours with her, I discovered that not only was she beyond beautiful, but she was funny and insightful as she gave me animated play-by-play commentary of the show. I missed her narration while she slept but found it much easier to follow the show. I was tempted to re-watch the last episode just so I could see what I missed while she was talking.

“Wake up,” I said, gently shaking her.

“I’m not sleep,” she lied, opening her eyes to look at me.

“I wasn’t sure if you wanted to sleep out here or if you preferred to sleep in bed.”

She scratched her head as she sat up and looked around the room. It must have taken her a minute to get her bearings together but eventually she stood up.

“I have a spare bedroom if you want to go to bed, or you can sleep on the couch. It doesn’t matter,” she noted.

“I don’t remember anything about sleeping in the memo.”

“The memo was probably mostly don’t let my cousin fuck and don’t fuck my cousin or else.”

“More or less.” I chuckled.

“I have no issue with you sleeping. No one is coming out here. Believe me. You already said you’re practically getting free money.”

“Is that what the other guys did?”
