Taking the lead, he entwined our fingers and pulled me along behind him as he searched for the exit. After a few wrong turns and a man with a chainsaw chasing us, we burst out of the house into the park.

I erupted into laughter. “That was so fun. Let’s do it again.”

Daire rolled his eyes but couldn’t keep the grin off his face. “Let’s not. That place is dangerous for me. I wanted to kill everyone who jumped out at us.”

We wandered around the area until we found Blaze and Cash standing with Raina and the Gods near a booth selling mini donuts. Raina munched on a donut from a small greasy bag. When she held the bag out to me, I helped myself to the goodness.

“That was better than I expected.” Raina nodded toward the haunted house. “What should we do next? House of mirrors? There’s also that creepy magic show in the theatre.”

Munching a cinnamon dusted donut, I glanced around, trying to decide where to go next. My gaze landed on Lyra, Briar, and another girl I didn’t recognize.

“Lyra’s here. Let’s go say hi.”

We left the guys to talk awkwardly amongst themselves. Since they’d worked together to find Raina and me, they’d managed to be friendlier with each other. Being forced to play Russian Roulette had altered their strained dynamic. A mutual respect had formed. Even if they never became friends, that was good enough for me.

The back area at Paradise had been cleaned out. Once we told Raina’s father what was going on there, he sent a team to make sure it was shut down. The owner of the club had disappeared. Nobody knew if he was dead or if he’d run. If he was out there, we’d find him.

The Sinners were using the laptop we’d given them to track down others involved in other cities around the world. That was a task for them to handle. The Angels and I were done.

“Hey, ladies,” Raina greeted Lyra and Briar. “Who’s your friend?”

“This is my sister, Mazey,” Briar said, nodding to the girl with long blonde braids, daisies woven into them. “She’s thinking about transferring to RU next semester. Mazey, this is Raina and Clover.”

Mazey’s smile was downright dazzling. “Nice to meet you both. I’m looking forward to making the move. My current school doesn’t offer all of the programs I’m interested in. What are you guys taking?”

A few minutes of small talk about classes turned into talk about campus life and campus men. Lyra peered over her shoulder, scanning our surroundings. “Speaking of campus men, have you seen Jet anywhere tonight? He’s been stalking me through the park. I think I lost him in the house of mirrors.”

I’d come to the realization that Lyra enjoyed Jet’s twisted attention. Seeing the way her pupils dilated as she looked for him confirmed my hunch. Jet wasn’t the only one of the two ofthem with issues. She loved his obsession with her. I wondered if she knew that.

Raina shook her head. “Haven’t seen him. If I do, I’ll be sure to punch him in the face.”

Lyra laughed nervously. “Just don’t have him wacked, okay, mob queen?”

When Raina and I returned to our guys, I said, “I’m not the only one who sees how much she loves Jet’s craziness, right?”

“Nope. That girl is hard up for it. I wonder how she’ll feel when she finds out he killed her boyfriend.” With a shrug, Raina glanced back in the direction Lyra had gone. “All we can do is be there for her as her friends.”

She was right. Like all of us, Lyra had to make her own choices and learn her own lessons. I just hoped she didn’t get hurt.

“I’m starving, Bad Girl,” Havoc said when we returned. “Let’s go dig up some real food. You can’t survive off mini donuts.”

Raina frowned. “I’ll be the judge of that. But yeah, I could go for a burger or something.”

Since I was ready for more Halloween action, we agreed to meet up at the theatre later. I wanted to check out the house of mirrors.

“Why don’t we make this a little more interesting?” Blaze suggested as we approached the building. “We’ll give you a head start, Rainbow, then we’ll come after you. If we catch you, we fuck you. Anywhere we want to in this park.”

“Ooh, I like that plan.” Cash briskly rubbed his hands together like an evil villain.

Daire didn’t need to be convinced. “Better get moving, Angel. You have three minutes.”

When he pulled out his phone to time me, I took off running. I knew better than to waste time contesting their plan.Excitement drove me as I darted into the house of mirrors, quickly losing myself in the maze of reflective glass.

My own image bounced back at me everywhere I turned. It didn’t take long for me to get confused. I wasn’t sure which way to run.

Moments later, the sound of my name being called seemed to echo from every direction. Shit. How close were they?

I kept moving, crashing into my own reflection several times in my haste to get away. Despite the adrenaline urging me on, I kept dissolving into giggles. I knew my Angels would catch me. I wanted it. Still, I couldn’t make it too easy for them.

I was starting to think that maybe I’d find my way out without running into them when Blaze appeared in the mirror behind me. The other two were right behind him. I spun around, seeking an escape route. Blaze’s arms went around me as he jerked me against his hard body.

“Found you,” he murmured in my ear, his tone filled with satisfaction. “We will always find you.”

They would. I believed him implicitly.
