When I pulled away, I was breathless, glad his other arm had come around my waist to hold me up. My knees felt like jelly.
"I don't give two fucks about your lipstick," he said.
I smiled up at him. "Of course you don’t."
There was a time when it would have annoyed the fuck out of me that I would have to redo my lipstick in the car, but right then, I didn't give two fucks about it either.
"I think we can all agree that we'd rather get Willa naked right here in the kitchen and forget the whole night," Rock said behind me. “But we have a reservation.”
Neo reluctantly let me go and headed for the door to the garage. Oscar picked up my overnight bag and followed.
“Where are your overnight bags?" I asked as we filed into the garage.
Behind me, Rock armed the alarm.
"In the car," he said, taking my hand and leading me to the car. "Don't worry about a thing, kitten. We've got it all covered.”
Chapter45
Willa
We headed through town in the Hummer, Neo driving and Oscar and Rock in the back while I took shotgun.
I was surprised when we left Main Street behind, continuing for another ten minutes until we turned onto a winding gravel road lined with old-fashioned streetlamps.
"I thought we weren't supposed to leave Blackwell Falls," I said.
The lamplight and winding road lent a fairy-tale atmosphere to the scene, especially with snow on the ground, but I wasn't eager to risk our safety, even for a magical Valentine's Day dinner.
And that was doubly true since we'd left Rafe's bodyguards at the house.
The Kings were never worried when they were with me, it was when they weren’t that they pulled out all the stops.
"We are in Blackwell Falls," Oscar said from the backseat.
"Really?" I asked.
"Really," Oscar said. "Right at the town limit, but still technically in Blades territory.”
"Wow," I said as we emerged onto a circular driveway with a massive rock sculpture at its center. I hadn’t realized the city limits stretched so far outside of town. What is this place?”
Beyond the sculpture, a beautiful stone house glowed with soft light from every window.
Neo stopped in front of the valet. "This is the Seneca Inn.”
"They have amazing food," Rock said. "It's Michelin rated.”
I didn't know much about fine dining, but I assumed a Michelin rating was a good thing.
“It's so fancy," I said.
The valet reached for my door, then took a step back when Neo shot him a glare that said,Touch that door and you're a dead man.
I didn't get it until Neo himself hurried around to open my door. His possessiveness knew no bounds I guess.
I stepped from the car, grateful for the Fendi coat Neo had sent for the Welcome Ball. I hadn't worn it that night but I was glad I had it now. It was freezing, and I tucked my chin into the gorgeous coat and took Neo's and Oscar’s crooked arms like I was a fancy Victorian lady with two suitors.
I looked up at Rock."I wish I had a third arm.”
