"What do Ryan's parents do? Do they have any ties to the police in town?" I hadn't even thought of that. I pulled out my phone and fully read the text the P.I. had sent. His parent's full names, address, phone number- and there it was. Ryan's dad was a police officer in this town.
I looked up at Eric with disbelief. "His dad is a cop."
"You have got to be fucking kidding me."
I shook my head. No wonder nothing had been done about Ryan's parents the last time they had kidnapped him. Who the hell could we call now to make sure nothing about this would go wrong? We could call the police in another town, but they wouldn't have jurisdiction in this town. Dammit.
"What about your friend Steve, the FBI agent? Could you call him again?"
I scrolled down my contacts and touched his name.
"Hey, Steve. I've got kind of an odd request and it's kind of urgent. I believe one of my employees has been kidnapped by his parents. He's an omega, and the parents somehow found out he was pregnant outside of marriage. They're apparently part of a fundamentalist religion and we have a strong suspicion based on past behavior that they have kidnapped him back to their home and are keeping him against his will."
"You're kidding me. Don't tell me he lives in the area about two hours north west of the big city?"
"That's exactly where they are. We're sitting on a street behind the house. We plan on casing the house to determine where Ryan is while Eric distracts whoever comes to the door. Ryan's dad is a cop with the local force. Nothing was done the last time he was kidnapped as an adult and held against his will by his parents."
"What the fuck? How bad you think this is going to get?"
"I don't know.. The fact that they took him in the middle of a workday and left to drive hours back to their home doesn't give me a very good feeling."
"There's an agent in the area I can call. I'd rather you not do anything until he gets there. However, if they tell you to leave the property, you've got to get off the property. If you hear Ryan calling for help, or you have reason to believe his life is in immediate danger, you can help him. If you can hear somebody being held against their will or calling for help, you can rescue them without breaking laws as long as you don't go crazy."
I felt a lot better now.
"I owe you a million, Steve."
"Tell me the whole story when you get Ryan back. Give me the address. If you think it's urgent, go now."
"I owe you one." I hung up and looked at Eric and Bill in the front seat. This was the best damn news we could've gotten. "Are you ready to rumble?"
