Chapter 23
Ryan
I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have such a caring and considerate alpha like Marcus. I couldn't believe he had ever thought that he would be a horrible partner in a long-term relationship. I have never seen him be self-serving, self-centered or greedy.
He came out from the kitchen with his Chinese food and sat on the other end of the couch so he wouldn't split Lance and I up. Even after I told him to stop being ridiculous and get over here, he didn't want me to move because I was in pain. Finally, I just stood up and moved over so Marcus would realize that even though I was in pain, I really wanted to sit next to him. I was in the middle of the couch, Lance on one side and Marcus on the other. I was snuggled between my two favorite people in the world and it was absolutely awesome.
Marcus's phone rang, and he glanced at it and then picked it up. "Yeah? Did your day suck as much as mine did?"
That must be either Bill or Eric. Neither of them had gotten much sleep, but they all went to work today. I could never repay them for what they did for me. I sniffled and teared up, but I tried to wipe my eyes without Marcus noticing. I didn't want to seem like an eternal water faucet in front of him, even if that was what I had turned into.
"Yeah, come on up. Lance ordered Chinese. I don't think there's any left but we can order some- okay, bye." Marcus turned to me. "Eric stopped by to see how we're doing. He's bringing a large pizza with him. I hope you guys are still hungry."
I raised my eyebrows. He didn't mind that I was almost done with a dinner sized portion of cashew chicken and ate three crab rangoon? Anybody else would've flipped out over how much food I had eaten.
"I'm going to get super huge if I keep eating. Did you see what I just ate?" Marcus narrowed his eyes and raised an eyebrow. That would never get old, that one raised eyebrow thing. Did he know how sexy it made him?
"Tell me what you had to eat yesterday." Well. He had a good point there. "I don't know what kind of pizza Eric brought, but he usually likes everything. Besides, you've got to keep your strength up for two, you know."
Marcus winked at me and then dove into his food with chopsticks. Was there nothing that man couldn't do? I must have been completely recovered from the trauma of yesterday because that wink sent tingles down my spine and straight to my cock. How fast could I get Lance and Eric out of here? And could I talk Marcus into having sex with me, even with bruised ribs? That would probably be a hard sell. I would have to think of something.
Eric got off the elevator and the smell of the pizza was absolutely mouthwatering. "I could get used to people delivering food. Bring it on in."
Marcus chuckled. Eric smiled as he placed the pizza on the coffee table, but he was staring at Lance the entire time.
"Hi. I don't think we've met. I'm Eric Starck, I work with these two." I glanced over at Lance and did a double take when I saw he was blushing. Well, well, well.
"Hi, I'm Lance. I'm, well, IwasRyan's roommate." Lance stood up to shake Eric's hand and I swear I could see literal sparks flying between them. I glanced at Marcus with raised eyebrows. He turned to me, surprised also. He was trying to keep his mouth shut and not laugh. He leaned toward me.
"I think Eric's just met his match." I smiled even bigger. If anyone deserved a terrific alpha, it was Lance. I turned back to watch as Eric sat down on the chair near Lance. He was so attentive to Lance, asking if he needed something else to drink, bringing him napkins. I didn't know if this was standard for Eric or not.
I glanced over at Marcus to find he was just staring at Eric. I was going to guess this was not normal Eric behavior at all. Was I seeing a love match in progress? I ignored whatever was on the TV and just watched Eric and Lance talk and flirt. When Lance would blush or Eric would seem flustered, I'd look over at Marcus to find him just as enthralled. From what I knew of Eric, he was never flustered or anything less than supremely self-confident. I knew Lance very well, and he was never the mild-mannered, shy person that he was being now.
I must've yawned for the third time when Marcus turned to me. "I think you should probably go to bed. You've been yawning nonstop. Plus, you're still recovering."
I nodded while yawning again. He had a point. I stood up and said good night to Eric and Lance, although I'm not even sure realized there was anybody else in the room. I made my way back to the bedroom, ourbedroom.
Yeah, I was surprised at myself. It had taken absolutely no time for me to get used to being Marcus's husband and living in his penthouse. Well, at least one good thing came from that kidnapping. It had made it extremely clear in both of our minds that we care deeply for each other and didn't want to let each other go.
I yawned again, covering my mouth. I could not stop yawning for the life of me. There goes my plan for seducing Marcus tonight. A soak in the bath would've been perfect, but I was so tired that I would probably fall asleep in five minutes.
Marcus helped me take off my shirt and and pants, because my ribs were still sore. After doing the usual nighttime stuff of washing our faces and brushing our teeth, we climbed into bed together. I laid on my back as Marcus was to my left, and there was no way I was laying on my left side to look at him.Marcus rolled over, laid an arm across my chest, rested his leg over mine and kissed my cheek. "There's nothing wrong with my mouth you know."
"Cheeky omega."
"That's cheeky omegahusbandto you, mister."
Marcus gave me a tender, gentle kiss until I grabbed the back of his head and really kissed him. I was done with these tender kisses no matter how much my face still hurt. Marcus angled his head, deepening the kiss. Flames of desire were rolling through me all originating from my poor ignored cock. I rubbed myself against his thigh, but the movement hurt my shoulder and ribs. Damn my uncle.
"You know we didn't have a wedding night." I looked in Marcus's eyes to see worry.
"I don't want to hurt you. Besides you're really tired and-"
"I know. I know all of that and yet I'm horny. I married you in a tacky drive-through wedding chapel, and I think at the very least I deserve some sex."
Marcus laughed, burying his head on my pillow. His laughter was shaking my body, but I didn't mind because it was Marcus and he was laughing. He finally pulled back looking at me.
"You deserve some sex for all your trouble, huh?"
