Chapter 6
Ryan
We got out of the car at a luxury apartment building. I couldn't believe this was really happening. I wanted to pinch myself again. I also still had the unreasonable urge to giggle. A doorman opened the door, nodding to Marcus. "Good evening, Mr. Sutton."
I tried to look nonchalant following him inside the building. No, I was not going up to the penthouse to have raunchy sex with my boss I've lusted after for years. I started giggling again and I quickly covered my mouth. Marcus gave me side eye, smirking as he pushed the elevator button, which of course made my giggling even worse. Thankfully the elevator door opened and we went in. He entered a key card and pushed the P button for Penthouse. I wondered what it looked like.
"Done with the giggles?"
I shrugged as I looked over at Marcus.
"Sorry about that. It just hit me as really funny."
Marcus narrowed his eyes.
"What did you think was funny?"
I licked my lips and noticed Marcus's eyes watching me with a heated look.
"The fact that we were at a company party, the fact that we left to have sex, and the fact that you're my boss." And my giggles started again. God I could just smack myself. I always giggled when I got nervous. "I think that sums it up."
Marcus stepped closer. "I'll take care of those giggles for you."
He leaned in and kissed me slowly, tenderly, while rubbing my cheek with his thumb. He could kiss like a devil and an angel when it suited him. I was in so much trouble. The elevator doors opened and Marcus pulled back. He smirked, holding out his hand. "Come on, let me show you the place."
I grabbed his hand and walked off the elevator straight into his apartment. Wow. It had a hell of a view. Every wall had floor to ceiling windows. The floor plan was open so you could see the skyline whether you were in the living room, dining room, kitchen or terrace. I didn't think I could live being on display all the time. Although, I imagine being on the top floor, above everything else, probably meant that not many people were able to look in the windows. I walked into the living room, straight to the windows. I looked down to the street below and then backed up a few feet. "Whoa!" That was scary as fuck.
"Are you scared of heights?" He put a hand on my hip and I grabbed him, holding on for dear life.
"I didn't think I was until I got too close to the window. Oh my God, that's terrifying. How can you stand it?"
He chuckled.
"The windows are thick and can withstand a lot. I'm not worried." He wrapped an arm around my other side and slowly pushed me towards the window. I pushed back against him more and more the closer we got to the window.
"Alexa, turn off the lights."
"A few things share that name. Which ones do you want?"
He chuckled. "That's right, I keep forgetting that I have to specifically say which lights. Alexa, turn off all the lights."
All the lights in the penthouse went off. The city was beautiful. I quit struggling and stared out the window. It was a forest of lights laid out below my feet. Now I could understand why people wanted the penthouse. You felt like a God looking down upon the plebeians. It was dark in the apartment except for the glow of lights from the city, which up this high, wasn't much. The moon wasn't very big and the only lights nearby were the tall blinking lights on the tops of the buildings. Damn.
"Do you ever sit in the dark and stare out at the lights?" Marcus wrapped his other arm around me.
"When I first moved up here that was all I did. Just sit in a chair close to the window looking out at the city. I couldn't get enough of it. Then I got used to it, except for when it snows. It's beautiful when it snows. The snowflakes swirl around the windows."
I could only imagine how beautiful that was. Marcus scooted me even closer to the window. I put my hands on it then quickly pulled them off.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to smear your window." I felt like such a jerk. Nobody wanted their windows touched, especially ones that had such a spectacular view.
"Don't worry about it. I've got a housekeeper that cleans. She actually gets upset with me if I don't have the place dirty for her." I looked over my shoulder with disbelief. "No, I'm serious. She'll be ecstatic that there's something for her to clean."
I turned back to the window. I didn't believe him for a second. Nobody liked having work made just for them to do.
I stood there, staring out the window, for I don't know how long. I looked at the other buildings, the lights on the poles, helicopters flying by, airplanes with lights blinking, clouds. It was a whole other world up here. It was beautiful. My focus went from the stunning view to Marcus's hands on the front of my leg. His other hand slowly unbuttoned my shirt while he kissed and licked my neck. To be honest, the view from the windows had actually made me forget why I was even here. The freezing cold of the window contrasted sharply with the heat of Marcus at my back, his hand on my thigh, his heated mouth on my neck. I leaned my head back, groaning. Then he started to grind his hips into my ass.
"You keep doing that and everybody outside will have an eyeful."
