To add to the mortification, Blade grabs me around my waist and pulls me to him. Fisting my hair, he gently but firmly pulls my head backward and looks me in the eye with fierce severity. He dips me slightly, crushing his lips into mine with a distinct feeling of ownership.
If that wasn’t bad enough, when he finally stands me back up, the look in his eye tells me this is what he’s been waiting for.
He’s claimed me.
Publicly.
Now, everyone will know I belong tohim.
Chapter Twenty-Eight
I toldher even if she wasn’t mine, she would never be anyone else’s.
I never thought I would mark a woman as untouchable. And I certainly didn’t plan on it happening today, especially since she wanted to keep it quiet for a little longer. But things just kind of fell into place. As I was leaving the bathroom, I overheard what those bitches said to her. Sasha had it handled, judging by the looks of things, but I was livid. No one talks to my girl like that, and I was going to make sure they knew it. At the same time, I could finally, publicly, lay claim to what’s mine.
So, greedily, I let myself go.
Sasha’s looking around the room as if she just showed up here in her underwear. She’s beyond embarrassed, and I know I’m going to pay for it. But I don’t give a fuck. What’s done is done, and I’m not sorry about it. Finally, she turns back to me and slaps me across the face.
A sly smile curls at my lips as heat spreads over my cheek. The more this girl fights me, the more I fall for her.
“Don’t youeverdo that again,” she shouts.
When she catches my don’t-give-a-fuck reaction, she takes it a step further.
“Get out.”
She throws her arm out to the side, index finger pointed straight at the front door. I reach into my back pocket for my wallet and take out a fifty-dollar bill. Stuffing it into her apron, I flash her a wink. Then Cap, Hawk, and I are out the door.
Marching to our bikes in the lot, Cap grabs hold of my attention.
“So, this is like a real thing, then?” he asks me.
“What?” I know exactly what he’s talking about, but I sure as fuck don’t feel like getting lectured right now.
“You and the girl.”
Here we go…
I turn away from him and insert the key into my ignition. No one other than Stone and Iron has ever had an actual ol’ lady before. In talking with my brothers previously, no one has ever expressed an interest in being tied down, me included.
Until everything changed.
And again, Sasha is an outsider with a history of bad shit with the Skull. No matter if she had anything to do with it or not.
“Yeah, it’s fucking real,” I snap.
“I’m not harping on you, man. I’m happy for you. Shit, I think I’m happier than she is right now, though.”
The three of us laugh. I’m relieved and honestly a little shocked that they’re taking it as well as they are. Maybe they feel bad about all the shit that went down with her, too?
“Yeah, that wasn’t thought out very well. She would have preferred to keep things quiet.”
I look back into the restaurant to see if she’s still standing there, shooting daggers at me, but I don’t see her anywhere.
“She’s just going to have to get over it. She’s certain she can keep me at arm’s length, but so far, I’ve proven her wrong. I’ve been fighting to keep my distance from her for two years. I don’t want to fight it anymore.”
“We’ve noticed,” Hawk jumps in.
