“Good girl.”

I wait for his choice of praise to anger me, but it doesn’t. Would it have if Luca hadn't said it to Paige first? I don’t have time to think about it because a second later he begins to look my body up and down, assessing me thoroughly. I stand there, hating life, cursing Paige for feeding me a crock full of lies. Having someone walk circles around you, critiquing you, looking for any flaw that you may have, and knowing they’re going to find several. This is an awful, uncomfortable feeling. I fight the urge to run from the room with every second that I’m left waiting, dreading what he is going to say when he finally speaks.

“You’re exquisite, little lamb.”

Exquisite?

I feel my eyebrows furrow in disbelief. That’s not at all what I was expecting to hear, but the way the timbre in his voice thickened with lust after his inspection of me, lit a flame of desire deep within me. No one has ever regarded me with such awe and respect before.

“A true beauty,” he says as he stops in front of me.

I don’t know what to say to that.

“This is where you would say, ‘Thank you, Sir.’”

It’s a lot harder addressing him when I am looking at him. I clear my throat.

“Thank you, Sir.”

The corners of his lips twitch into a smug grin.

Bastard!

“Have a seat.”

I kneel on the ground and position my body exactly how Paige’s is. Once I’m down, The Beast and Luca walk over to the far side of the room. I turn my head, curious to see where they’re going and watch as they open a closet that’s situated there.

“Rosabelle,” I hear Paige whisper scream from the opposite direction, “Eyes down.”

I turn my eyes back to the floor before I can see what is in the closet. I can probably guess though. We’re in a training room in the middle of a sex club.

“You’re doing great, by the way. Keep it up!”

“Paige!”

Luca’s voice echos off the walls of the room. Oh, shit. How did he hear her talking from way over there?

“Come,” he commands, pointing to a chair next to him.

I blanch when I see her begin crawling to meet him. I will never be okay with obeying commands and acting like I’m a dog.

“I’m sorry,” I say, getting up from the floor and walking toward them. “It’s my fault, she was correcting me.”

“Silence!” The Beast roars at me, and I am legitimately frightened. “Did I tell you to get up off of the ground?”

“No, I’m sorry. I just--”

“No,Sir!” he corrects me, sternly.

“No, Sir. I’m sorry,” I kneel down on the ground again and continue trying to explain myself. “I did something wrong and she was just trying to help.”

He stands tall over me, looking like he is going to yell. But as I look up at him from down on my knees, something stops him.

“There are rules that need to be followed. Paige knows what they are. It was her choice to speak out of turn. Do you remember the discussion that we had about choices this morning?”

I begin to nod my head, but he cocks his eyebrow at me.

“Yes, Sir,” I say.
