Securing us for a lifetime.
Euphoria danced through my being, my wolf rejoicing at the declaration.
My heart raced.
My lips parted on a breath as Jonas released my throat.
And all that left my mouth was a contented sigh.
Followed by the word “Again.”
Because the pleasure of his knot was waning. However, my heat… my heat was here. Overwhelming me. Sending me spiraling into a sea ofneed.
“More,” I growled, pushing against him.
Jonas growled in response. “Patience, Omega.”
My wolf whimpered beneath his reprimand.
“I’m going to give you what you need,” he said, his mouth still against my shoulder. “But you’re going to be patient.”
My inner animal didn’t like that plan at all. She responded by digging my nails into his shoulders and scraping violently downward.
Jonas caught my wrists and pulled them over my head. “Bondage is fun.” The words were silky and smooth anddark. “Perhaps we’ll explore that next.”
I snarled.
He snarled back.
Much scarier. Much bigger. Much moreAlpha.
“We’re going to work on your patience, little wolf,” he said, obviously aware that it was my animal leading me now. “But I want your human back for a minute.”
My wolf snorted at that.
So he growled, this time far more intensely than before.
I quivered in response, then gasped at the rippling sensation stirring inside my lower belly from his knot.
“Jonas,” I breathed, trembling.
“There’s my mate,” he murmured, brushing a kiss against my mouth. “You’re disassociating a bit from your wolf.”
“I… I don’t…”
“It’s okay,” he told me. “I can manage your errant animal. I just need to know that you’re all right.”
“I’m… I’m overwhelmed.”
“I know.” He nuzzled me, his purr increasing. “But I’m going to take care of you, okay?”
I swallowed, my chin dipping as though he’d compelled me to nod. Or maybe it was just my inherent faith in him to protect me.
Like he’d been doing for months.
“You’re my mate.” The words were a breath against my mouth. “Which means I’m going to worship you for as long as your heat lasts. Then I’m going to cherish you for the rest of our lives.”
My chest warmed at the thought. I wasn’t sure what that entailed right now. But I trusted him. I trustedthis. “Okay,” I whispered. “I know you won’t hurt me.”
