I pulled on the handle, but it didn’t open. “Well, have fun, and wish me luck!” I laughed as I struggled with the damn door. Remembering it was locked, I quickly unlocked it and stepped out.

“Good luck, Gwenny-love. Now go get that dress on!” He playfully smacked my butt a few times, ushering me in the direction of the bedroom.

The crystalline bedside lamp dimly illuminated the bedroom as I stood before an antiqued full-length mirror, mystified by my reflection. My silky, diaphanous, A-line style white gown draped elegantly to the floor, perfectly hugging every curve of my body. Tendrils of delicate lace wove their way up from the base of the dress like creeping vines of ivy. The same lace adorned the sweetheart bodice and made up the sheer cap sleeves. My back was bare, except for the silken straps that laced up the corset. The dress was stunning and complemented by my beautifully done hair and makeup.

It felt so strange and surreal; I looked like a bride.

I lifted my hand to the sapphire pendant resting between my collarbones. The stone was warm from being against my skin and glittered with a chatoyancy flashing down the middle. I smiled, treasuring the fact that it was a gift from my aunt and that she was proud of me.

A large, clawed hand rested over mine as Azathoth manifested out of the shadows behind me. His eyes glowed with adoration, and mine twinkled with endearment, while we lovingly stared at one another in the mirror. I felt so small and delicate next to his towering, demonic frame. A smile fluttered across my face as he bestowed a kiss on my head.

His wings gently flapped and folded around me in an intimate show of affection. “You look beautiful,” he murmured as he sensually ran his claws along my upper arm, then looped a finger beneath my sleeve. “In fact, it’s almost a shame this is coming right off... almost.”

I raised a brow as I noted what he was wearing. “You’re not going to dress up too?” I teased, since he only wore a pair of black pants. Nothing else.

He chuckled, causing his pearly white fangs to flash in the lamplight. “You do realize we’re going to be naked in a few moments, don’t you?”

“Yeah, yeah, I know.” I crossed my arms with a grin. “I suppose it’s not like you could even wear a tux or something with these big old wings, anyway.” My finger stroked along one of his soft, leathery wings.

“We could always cut holes in the back,” he responded with a shrug and a playful smile. “Well, despite my lack of formal attire, we should get going.”

I turned to face him and smiled. “All right, let’s go.” Black smoke clouded my vision; then it disappeared. I sucked in a deep breath, awestruck by the surrounding scenery.

We were standing in a familiar moonlit meadow among a golden sea of wavering buttercups. The lofty willow tree beneath which we had first made love stood beside us, blowing gently in the breeze. The warm glow of a few beautiful antique lanterns hanging within its dancing leafy veil softly illuminated its branches. I looked down at the lush grass tickling my bare feet and found that we were within a mowed circle with a large pentagram burned onto the ground.

Enshrined in a halo of silver light, the full moon shone its bright rays down upon the quivering yellow blooms and sparkled across the winding stream. The short waterfalls were gushing with life this time of year, causing the cascading water to sing out an enchanting melody as it poured over the mossy stones. Pansies and primroses pranced along the shoreline, while the sweet scent of lilacs wafted through the air. A few dainty fireflies danced around us like little scintillating flecks of magic. One flew over and almost landed on my nose, causing a small giggle to chime out of me.

“Wow, Azathoth, this is beautiful!” I exclaimed as I stepped out of his arms and walked among the whimsically swaying buttercups. The glimmering moonbeams set my dress aglow while I twirled under the cascade of silvery light, laughing as the lacy skirt beautifully fanned out around me. I stood next to the glittering stream and looked back at Azathoth with love in my eyes and joy in my heart.

He smiled with a look of adoration in his incandescent gaze. “I’m glad you like it.” He reached down and plucked one of the many blossoming buttercups. “I planted all these buttercups earlier this spring, just for you.” The lambent moonlight glistened upon his horns and silky raven locks as he walked toward me.

“I love it! It’s so beautiful; how could I not?” I twirled again, causing the fireflies to quickly zip-zoodle away. “Oops, I didn’t mean to scare those little guys.” I giggled while watching the tiny glowing specks disappear into the darkness of the night.

A soft chuckle rumbled in his chest as he tucked the delicate yellow bloom behind my ear. He caressed my jawline until his sharp claws rested beneath my chin. A warm breeze blew through his long hair while he lifted my face and tenderly pressed his warm lips against mine. “You could always use magic to summon them back over,” he suggested while smiling against my cheek. His free hand rested on the small of my back, holding me close to him.

My hesitant gaze drifted up to the bejeweled skyline. Over the past couple of months, he’d been teaching me some very basic sorcery. So far, I had only accidentally killed and then revived my calathea plant, Leaf Erikson. Needless to say, I wasn’t too confident in my witchcraft abilities just yet.

“I’ll try, I suppose,” my voice quavered, lacking confidence. “But, um, I’m not so sure if it will work.”

I really hope I don’t murder a bunch of fireflies or blow something up...

He moved his lips to hover just above my scar, then he gently blew. My nipples hardened to tiny beads, and warmth swam between my legs from the feeling of his hot breath upon my sensitive flesh. “I have confidence in your abilities. Just remember what I’ve taught you.” His deep voice was like a velvety caress upon my awakening body.

My hands sensually slid up his smooth, hard chest, then I closed my eyes and tried to conjure up the magic within my soul. We stood in silence for a spell, beneath the trembling threads of starlight, and enwreathed by the bewitching cadence of the glistening stream. I furrowed my brows in focus, willing the little luminous insects to return. Then, his soft lips laid a surprising sneak attack kiss upon mine. My emerald eyes flew open, and hundreds of glowing fireflies suddenly appeared. They swirled up around us like glittering tendrils of enchanted mist, dancing into the night sky.

“Whoa!”I giggled, awestruck by the sight and shocked that I had managed to summon them without messing something up.

He chuckled and kissed the top of my head. “See? I knew you could do it.” His hands glided up my back until they rested over my shoulder blades. He leaned down and began kissing the rounded tops of my breasts. “Now, let’s get you out of this dress, my beautiful sorceress,” he muttered while straightening back up.

As the springtime breeze whispered sweet love songs to the surrounding trees of linden, maple, and oak, we began to amorously undress one another. Azathoth spun me around, then swept my waving chestnut locks over my slender shoulder. He slowly unlaced the silken white ribbons of my corseted bodice, kissing down my back as each section of skin was unveiled.

Once my gown was undone, he circled in front of me with his right wing outstretched to enwreathe my slightly tremulous frame. His taloned hands brushed against my lacy sleeves, causing a shiver of anticipation to follow through me. With deliberate slowness, he lowered my dress, revealing what lay hidden beneath its fabric. He then discarded the glimmering bridal raiment among the dancing buttercups.

His hair swayed in the warm breeze, and his eyes glowed with lust as he took in the sight of my naked flesh, adorned in nothing but the celestial light. My heart fluttered in my chest, and my cheeks flushed under his libidinous stare. I bit my lower lip as I reached out to unfasten his taut pants, eliciting a deep, seductive growl from him.

His hardened member sprang free as I slowly knelt before him, sliding the rough black material down his thick, masculine legs. The erotic sight made my lower stomach sing with desire. I inhaled a deep breath of his intoxicating fire and spice scent, making my head dizzy with want. My lips bowed to the glistening tip of his shaft, teasing him with a quick kiss. He groaned and shuddered at my brief sensual touch. I then stood back up into his awaiting embrace.

We stood there with love in our hearts, below the surrounding shadows of spruce and pinnacles of pine. Our nude bodies caressed by the moon and dressed in the crystalline light of the stars, completely bared to one another as we prepared to become husband and wife.
