Aiden rubbed a hand over my thigh.“You okay?”

“I’m not sure I want to stay,” I said.“I can barely catch my breath, and these two aren’t even our teams!”

He chuckled.“We can leave if you want. There’s no mandatory viewing required. We should wait until the end of the match, though.”

I nodded my acceptance.“There’s only a few minutes left,” I said.“I can stick it out.”

“And miss the European team’s first match?”

“You want to stay, don’t you?”I asked.“I’m sorry.I can go.I’ll work on my thesis.”

Aiden frowned.“Are you sure?I love being with you.”

“This only happens once every ten years, and you love Dragon Polo.”I smiled at him.“Stay.I’ll be fine.”

Aiden kissed my temple.“I won’t stay for the full thing.I’ll be back before you go to bed.”

“I won’t hold you to that,” I said with a chuckle.“This is exciting.”

He grinned sheepishly.“Yeah, you’re right.”

Africa scored again.

“Only two minutes left,” I said.“This is so intense.”

“They’ve got a good team,” Aiden said.“I’m curious to see how well the European team meshes together.”

“I’ll send them good luck,” I said.

Asia didn’t manage to score on the African powerhouse before the buzzer rang, indicating the end of the first match.

I got to my feet and sidled my way to the stairs as the teams flew out of the stadium.“See you later!”I said cheerfully, taking the stairs two at the time. The portal flared to life as I approached it, and I left while the announcer introduced the European and North American teams.

The dim lighting of the basement greeted me, the silence almost oppressive after the noise level of the stadium.

The first thing I had to do was hunt down the professor who could sign me in.I wasn’t surprised that he wasn’t at the portal.Once he’d let everyone through, he would go to his office or rooms to relax.

He was surprised I’d returned so soon, but didn’t question me.

I returned to my room and pulled my thesis project out, reading over the pages I’d written that afternoon. Some of it was salvageable. It was frustrating to not have the bulk of my notes, since they were in my grimoire.

A lot of what I wrote had “insert calculation here” or “describe observations here.”I sighed, frustrated, and threw my pen down.I rolled my head from side to side, stretching out my neck.

“I could’ve really used a de-stressing sex session,” I muttered.“But no, I had to be all selfless and let Aiden watch his favorite sport.”

I eyed my side table where I kept my sex toys.It was bio-locked to keep prying child fingers out.

“No,” I said, shaking my head and slapping my cheek lightly.“Get five more pages written, and then I can have some stress release.”

I struggled through two pages before I gave up entirely.

I stripped out of my clothing, dropping them carelessly on the floor.

Professor Dunlop was looking after Professor Reynolds tonight. With the child old enough to sleep through the night, he said he didn’t mind.I didn’t have to worry about him knocking on the door any minute.

I grabbed a vibrator that was tuned into my emotions and brought it back to the desk, sticking the suction-cup end to my chair.

“There. If I do really well, it’ll start up,” I said, getting excited at the prospect.“Talk about a reward system!”
