I shivered. “Always. I’m sure she’d have at least three ideas of things to test for that wouldn’t ever occur to me in a million years.”
“She might be smart, but so are you,” Lilia pointed out. “I’m sure you’ll figure something out.”
“Anyone else find it strange that there’s magic draining from the dark forest, and the two best Herbology students are missing or dead?” Brom asked, raising an eyebrow.
“There are other Herbology students in other years,” I said, leaning against Aiden’s broad chest. “And that’s not even counting the teachers. I don’t think this is a targeted attack.”
Brom shrugged. “It was merely an observation.”
“What I can’t figure out is the common thread between the disappearances,” Aiden said. “Every single one was a fire beast. Except, notably, Hazel. None of them are in similar programs of study. They didn’t arrive at school on the same day. The ones who were returned seem just as random as the ones who are missing. I don’t get it.”
“Maybe we should draw it out,” I said, tracing nonsense patterns on his thigh. “See if maybe they have someone who is in all their classes or something.”
“I’ve got it!” Lilia said, and I sat up straight. “They’re all students at Blackthorn Academy!”
I threw a pillow at her, hitting her in her face and making her laugh so hard she got hiccups.
“Not helpful in the slightest,” I said with a scowl. “Get out.”
Lilia hopped to her feet. “I will. But only because you look like you’re about to jump Aiden with us in the room.”
“I’m not!” I gasped.
“Right. I see the foreplay going on, your hand getting higher on his leg.” Lilia waved at us. “Maybe you’ll figure something out while in the throes of ecstasy. You can tell us in the morning.” She skipped out of the room, Brom trailing behind her.
“Like you’re not going to get some in Brom’s room!” I called after her.
Aiden wrapped his arms around me. “Lock the door. I’ve been hard since I woke up this morning and I want you now.”
“But...”
“Unless you’re proposing anal, I don’t want to hear that word from those pouty lips tonight,” Aiden said with a growl.
I laughed. “All right.” I got to my feet to go and lock the door, meandering slowly back to my bed, Aiden sprawled out along the length of it. I flicked my fingers and music started playing, slow and sensual. I swayed to the beat, my hips swirling in the air. “I love this song,” I said.
Aiden licked his lips, his eyes not leaving my body. “Are you going to strip for me, Siobhan?” he murmured.
My fingers curled around the collar of my shirt, sliding down to the first button. “Would you enjoy that?”
“Yes, please.” Aiden sat up, hauling his shirt over his head with one hand, and then fussed with the pillows before reclining against them. “I’m ready.”
“Glad you’re comfortable,” I teased. One button after the next, I undid my shirt, revealing the lacy white corset underneath.
“Fuck, Siobhan,” Aiden murmured. “You’re so sexy.” He unzipped his pants and cupped himself through his boxers, the tent already raised with the evidence of his desire.
Leaving my shirt on, I focused my attention on my skirt next, toying with the zipper on the side until it was all the way down. Without the tension the zipper provided, the skirt fell to the floor at my feet. I was actually wearing underwear this time; matching boyshorts with a peephole in the back, not that he could see that from his position on the bed.
I shrugged out of my shirt, leaving it loose around my elbows and hanging over my ass while I turned around, and then dropping it to puddle at my feet.
A loud thump followed by a curse met my ears and I whipped around. “Are you okay?” I asked, concerned.
“Hit my elbow on the wall,” Aiden muttered, cheeks flushed.
Sure enough, there was an elbow-sized hole in my wall. My eyes widened. “Because of me?” I asked, flattered.
“I wasn’t expecting the cut-out in your panties,” Aiden explained, flustered.
“You’ve seen more of me than that!” I said, surprised. A wave of my hand, and the wall fixed itself.
