“Stay?” I asked, scooching over and making room for him.
“Yeah. You got me,” he replied, and my heart soared.
It wasn’t anI love you. Not out loud. Not yet, but it was anI love youto me, and to him.
He crawled under the covers and lay between my splayed legs, nuzzling my nose with his before crashing his lips into mine.
Goddess knew I was so wrong for thinking his lips hard and thin. Fin had the absolute softest mouth and the sexiest, deepest kiss of any man who walked the earth. My stomach growled, and my hunger rose and my sexy mate growled right back.
“Need you, mate,” he grunted as he filled me, pressing my lips to his neck.
The thing about feeding on someone who was yourcor lucis, was you felt that person’s feelings. Fin needed me to feed from him, just like I needed to feed. His love for me spilled over into wanting to be my sustenance, and as we reached new heights and explored each other, I felt our bonds grow brighter, thicker, and stronger than ever.
“Need you so bad, Fin. It burns me up inside,” I moaned as he pumped his hips.
“You got me, Mabel. Take from my vein, mate. Only me. Only you. Fuck, that feels so good,” he growled, pumping harder as I took another pull, then we were both tipping over into oblivion.
Hours or maybe just seconds later, when we both made it back down to earth, Fin kissed me lazily, and I wondered if he tasted his blood on my lips and how it made him feel.
“You are everything to me, Mabel. With you, I feel whole,” he said, holding me tight.
That night, as I lay on top of Fin’s sleeping form, I realized something immense. In order to actualize my true power, I had to learn difficult truths and accept help from those I never would have asked. It was humbling and empowering all at the same time.
No witch was an island, and that went double for a hybrid witch vampire like me. Armstrong said I wasn’t a blood witch, but I think she was wrong.
I am a blood witch.
A real one.
And I wasn’t an undeclared. I belonged to the defunct Sanguinem Coven, the ancient order of witch vampire hybrids who could see the blood connections, touch magic, and walk through different realms of reality.
My secret was out now, at least to my friends, but until we learned how to save magic and challenge the Council, I wasn’t sure if I could ever really tell anyone my truth.
That kind of hurt.
“I know your truth, Mabel. You got me,” Fin whispered, and I smiled as I lifted my gaze to his silver burning one.
“I should have known you were awake.”
“Your thoughts are so loud,” he teased, kissing me again.
Hope and love filled me as Fin took over our kiss. He was still the most dangerous man I knew. He could make me forget everything with those lips of his. But I wasn’t trying to forget who I was anymore. The total opposite, in fact.
I was half witch, half vampire.
I belonged to a Coven.
I had friends who cared about me.
I had a home.
I had family—not a perfect one, but someone who shared my DNA.
And I had Fin.Fino Apellare. My heart light. Mylast callfor the rest of my life.
We had a long way to go to save magic. To get this whole Mobilis Coven, the dream team of witches, to hear Jade say it, moving. And I was a total wreck. A newbie. But I was just learning, and my girls were there to help.
I was not alone anymore.
Smiling, I fell asleep with Fin’s voice whispering in my ear.
You got me.
You. Got. Me.
And that was everything.
