Rhiannon shook her head vehemently, her cheeks blazing red even in the dim lighting, and guided the girls over to the bar.

The bartender finished with a group of guys, wiped the counter after they had taken their drinks, and stepped over in front of the women. “What can I get you beautiful ladies?”

“A round of Screaming Orgasm shots,” Una said immediately. “It’s on me,” she reassured the rest of us, handing her money over.

Smirking playfully, looking Una up and down, the bartender quickly fulfilled her request, pouring out the four shots, topping them with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. “I get my break in five minutes, and, if you’re interested, I can satisfy you just as quickly with one of these in reality.”

“Five minutes, you say?” Una flirted back. “We’ll see.”

I half-tuned her out, studying the students at the tables, looking for someone of my own to flirt with. My attention was drawn to a guy with black hair wearing a burgundy button-down shirt. He was sitting with a group of guys in one corner, and he was looking right at me.

He smirked and lifted the bottle he was holding to his lips, never breaking eye contact as he took a sip.

My gaze fell to his throat, his Adam’s apple bobbing when he swallowed, and then lower, to where the top few buttons were undone, revealing a bit of ink on his left pectoral. I was suddenly parched with thirst.

“Siobhan!” Hazel said loudly in my ear, making me flinch, and shaking my shoulder. “We’re ready!”

I blinked slowly, feeling like I’d been under a spell, and returned my attention to my friends. “Yes, let’s do this!”

I plucked the cherry out by the stem and tossed the shot back at the same time as my friends, slamming it back down on the bartop as the alcohol hit the back of my throat. “Good. Really good,” I told the bartender, raising one thumb in approval. But I wanted to return to staring at the dreamboat in the corner.

He wasn’t there.

Disappointed, I scanned the rest of the room, hoping to spot him, and popped the cherry in my mouth, picking it off the stem with my teeth.

“Have you ever tied the stem of a cherry into a knot just using your tongue?” Hazel asked us. “See if you can beat me!”

I half-snorted. There was no way I could beat her, but the challenge was too great. I worked the stem between my teeth and tongue, trying to get one end through the loop. Hazel finished first, of course, but I successfully stuck my tied knot out between my teeth before the other girls.

“Shall we dance?” I asked, pulling on Rhiannon and Hazel’s hands. An upbeat song was playing, and I couldn’t wait to lose myself in the rhythm of the dance.

“I’ll be right with you,” Una said dreamily, waving us on. “I’ve got a date.”

I knew she could handle herself, so I turned to face my friends, swaying my hips to the beat and raising my arms above my head, eyes closed.

I felt warmth behind me, not touching, before he spoke. My heart pounded. I knew who it was without turning around.

“Is this a girls only night, or may I dance with you too?” a deep voice asked in my ear. My eyes opened and I glanced behind me.

Behind, and up.

Wow, he’s tall!

Dark brown eyes met mine and the corners crinkled in amusement. He was even more attractive up close.

“Dance with me,” I replied, a trifle breathlessly.

Permission granted, he gripped my hip and plastered his front against my back, keeping in time with the rocking of my hips, but adding a subtle grind that made it filthy.

I raised my arms again, this time looping them behind his neck, and he lowered his head until he could whisper in my ear.

“I couldn’t take my eyes off you since the moment you walked in,” he murmured. “I’m the luckiest guy in the pub tonight.”

“I don’t know, the bartender’s about to get very lucky,” I said playfully.

We both watched as there was a trade-off behind the bar, and Una followed the original bartender through a door.

The guy behind me chuckled. “I’m not interested in one-night stands.”
