“Sounds good,” Kayden said. “Can you give me a time for when lunch actually is?”

“Midnight. And please feel free to hit the kitchen for snacks any time,” Ward said, standing. “You don’t have to wait until it’s mealtime if you’re hungry.”

“You can get in touch with me either by phone or by coming to the infirmary if you have questions or you need anything too,” Celine said.

“The same goes for the members of my counsel, who I think everybody has met. They are here to help if you should need it. Kayden? I know you have my cell phone number. Would you also pass it out to the rest of your group?”

“Thank you, Ward. Yes, I will do that. See you in a couple of hours.”

Celine and Rihanna also stood. “We’ll see you later.”

Once Ward, Celine, and Rihanna left, Lance motioned for Mika and Kayden to follow him. After they dumped their trays, they followed Lance outside to a nice little garden area with a gazebo that was relatively private.

“What’s up?” Kayden said as they set down.

“Well, first off, are you really okay?” Lance asked.

“I really am. What headache I had is mostly gone. Eating helped also,” Kayden said.

“I’m glad. I was worried about you. Now, having gotten that out of the way, what the fuck, dude?”

Kayden blinked, then squirmed uncomfortably on the wooden bench he was sitting on. “What?”

“Don’t act all innocent and shit.” Lance crossed his arms over his chest. “No one here believes that.”

Kayden looked at Mika. “You have any idea what he’s talking about?”

“I sure do.”

“And?” Kayden demanded, but Mika just grinned at him.

“And why do you smell like a gargoyle rubbed all over you?” Mika asked.

“Because he probably has,” Lance hooted. “And I’m going to guess I know which one too.”

“You don’t have to guess because we can smell Kayden all over him,” Mika pointed out.

“Oh, I know. I’m just seeing how red Kayden can turn.”

“I hate both of you.”

“Heard that before. Now spill. Is he a good kisser? Did he sweep you off your feet? Kissed you until you woke up? Isn’t there a fairy tale based on that? I mean, he did kind of save you from the evil witch. And he lives in a castle.” Lance wiggled his eyebrows.

“Good Lord, stop that. You look like you’re having a seizure.” Kayden shuddered.

“You know what? You can—”

Mika sighed. “I mean, seriously, he’s just going to tell you to seize—”

“I know what he’s going to tell me to seize, and no thank you,” Kayden pointed at Lance before he could open his mouth again. “Yes, he kissed me. Yes, it was hot. No, he did not sneak into my room to kiss me. I would’ve thrown his ass out of his own castle window.”

Kayden could feel his face turning bright red, although he shouldn’t be the only one embarrassed. Lance’s smirk and wiggling eyebrows were almost comical, but not much phased Lance. Even Mika had a knowing grin plastered across his face.

“Kissed by the gargoyle. What a title that would be for a hot male on male romance.” Lance pretended to swoon.

“Good God,” Kayden muttered. “Would you stop, please?” he pleaded, his tone a mixture of exasperation and desperation.

Lance suddenly got serious. “It must have gotten pretty heated because we could smell your arousal all over him and vice versa. Which means if we can smell it, anybody with a halfway sensitive nose is going to smell it too.”
