“We… care deeply for you.”
It wasn’t a declaration of love, but none of them were ready for that, although Kit had a feeling they were headed that way.
“We can’t force him, Your Majesty,” Connie said.
Hudson blinked slowly.
And of course Kit noticed how Connie was suddenly referring to Hudson.
“You don’t want to force me, do you? You just don’t know how to handle the situation, right? I bet as powerful as you are, this is something you’re not used to. And maybe you feel a little out of control? And you feel that way because of me.” Kit sat up and took Hudson’s hand.
Hudson looked at their linked fingers, then back up at Kit. “You are vulnerable.”
“And we have something to stop that, don’t we?” Kit asked. He got it. He really did. In Hudson’s dragon’s mind, it made perfect sense. There was a way to help protect Kit, so what were they waiting on? Dragon logic at its finest.
“What… what are you saying, Kit?” Connie whispered.
“I’m saying I’ve already been thinking about this, but I didn’t know how deep the worry went with Hudson. And I’m sorry for that.” Kit took a deep breath. “I’ll take your blood. And Connie’s.”
“Kit, are you sure? Don’t let Hudson—”
“He hasn’t pushed me into it, Connie. Like I said, I was already leaning toward it, but honestly? This? This shows me how concerned he is. And probably how concerned you are. Am I right?”
“Well, yes. But, again, that must be a decision you make. I’m kind of feeling like you’re being coerced.”
Hudson blinked slowly again. “Kit?”
Kit immediately noticed the change in Hudson’s voice. Now he sounded more like himself and not that deep, dark growly version of his dragon.
“There you are. I’m not being coerced. If I didn’t want to do this, I wouldn’t. I promise.”
Hudson shook his head. “I wasn’t expecting that. It’s very rare my dragon takes over like that, but…”
“But he was concerned. Yeah, I got that, and he was right. I’m letting a stupid fear dictate to me, and I just realized it’s not even the blood itself. It was how it was taken from me. But that has nothing to do with us.”
“My dragon would’ve never forced you.”
“I know that. I do. But he also helped me get something straight in my head by making a sudden appearance,” Kit admitted. “I don’t know exactly how we’re going to do this. Maybe mix it with juice or something? And I don’t really want to see how you go about getting it.”
Hudson nodded frantically. “That’s not a problem. Are you seriously thinking about this?”
“I had already been, like I said. But that surprise visit made my mind up. I’m sure. And we’ll tackle that later. Right now? I want you to make love to me. The both of you.”
Kit would leave it up to them to figure out the “both” he was talking about.
“You are absolutely amazing. I was even nervous when Hudson’s dragon took over. But you? You dealt with it. Dealt with him.” Connie wrapped his fingers around Kit’s cock and firmly stroked him. “Absolutely amazing.”
Kit didn’t feel amazing—he’d done what needed to be done. And he didn’t want to dwell on it any longer now that Connie had his hand on his cock.
He quit fighting his body’s natural response and just let go. On the third upstroke, the tingles racing up his spine nailed him in the back of the head. He was already close again.
Connie stopped, and Kit almost did some growling of his own. It was like he somehow knew how close Kit was. Actually, the way the bond was jumping about, he probably did.
Kit sprawled on the bed, chest heaving. Through hooded eyes, he watched Hudson retrieve the lube from the end table. Hudson moved between his legs, then wetted his fingers.
Breathless, Kit pulled his legs up to his chest, giving Hudson access. He tensed as Hudson’s finger teased his hole, but the barely there touch didn’t hurt.
Instead, it left him wanting more. His body writhed, desperate. “Please.”
