I gasped with surprise but also with need. He’d never done something like that before, and the possessiveness and desperation were the perfect aphrodisiacs. His hand unfastened my bra as his mouth captured my nipple.
My body arched against him, already wanting him inside me.Griffin.
He tensed as I slipped my hand between us, touching him. I stroked him, and his body coiled on top of me.
Oh, God.He moaned as he rolled to the side of me. He pulled back to yank down my yoga pants and growled. No panties.
I thought you might like that.I quickened my pace, enjoying the control I had over him.
Hell, yeah. His fingers slipped between my legs, and the two of us rubbed one another, bringing each other close to the edge.
The pressure built inside me, and I grabbed his hand, yanking it aside. I straddled him, guiding him inside me, and then rode him hard.
There was no gentle build to it, as close as I already was to the edge. He bucked against me while his fingers dug into my waist, turning me on even more. I spread my legs further apart, letting him slide in as deep as he could go.
Our bodies slicked with sweat as pleasure rocked through us. Our feelings merged together, making our orgasms even more intense as our bodies convulsed in pleasure.
“Holy shit,” he rasped, raising himself to kiss me once more. That was amazing.
Yes, it was.
A loud knock sounded on the door, and Killian said, “We’ve got a huge problem. Two of the guards have disappeared, and their connection has gone cold.”
The implication rang clear. “You think they’re dead?” I asked.
“Yes,” he said tensely. “And whoever is behind it all is here.”
CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
The momentof solitude and pleasure vanished. My body tensed as I hurriedly dressed again.
Both of us rushed, desperate to get outside and see what we were facing. Each moment we were blind to the threat meant the attackers had longer to get into prime position.
Dick said we had no cluewho we were up against. That was what I’d been worried about when we returned home a week ago, but when nothing happened in those first few days. I should’ve known that our unknown enemies would wait long enough for us to let our guard drop.
He’d told the truth, and there was someone else after us.
Do you think it’s Azbogah and his followers?Griffin asked as he buttoned his jeans.
I slipped my shirt over my head. No, I don’t. Azbogah is an in-your-face type of person. He wouldn’t do a sneak attack. He wants a production to make himself feel more powerful. This is whoever was working with Dick…or whoever Dick was working for.
Maybe Julius knew this was going to happen,Griffin growled, watching me put my jeans back on.
Thinking the worst of my brother was easy. We hadn’t gotten off on the right foot with him trying to attack me and all, but he hadn’t known that Dick had my pack slaughtered. When he said Dick was the main person, he wasn’t lying. You know that. There had been no signs, neither smell or physical tells like a racing heart, of a lie.
More guards are being attacked.Killian connected with us again using the pack links we now shared. The enemy is surrounding us.
Any clue who it is?Griffin asked as he opened the bedroom door.
No, but they’re all shifters,Killian said as worry pulsed through our pack bond.I’m shifting and joining the fight now.
We entered the living room just as Killian opened the back door, with Sierra and Rosemary right behind him.
“I’m going to fly around and see what I can see. I wish Mom and Dad could help, but they have their hands full in the city with all the problems Azbogah is creating.” Rosemary looked at me. “From the sound of it, you need to get Bart and the silver wolves over here to fight.”
I hated to do that, but the sounds of howls and screams wailed outside. Whoever was attacking us was pulling out all the stops, and the heartbreak pouring from Killian informed me that it was worse than I had initially understood. We needed backup, and it would take Bart and his pack at least ten minutes to get to us. Every second could mean another life, which was unacceptable.
Are you and the others able to get here quickly?I linked to Bart, not bothering to beat around the bush. I allowed my alarm to penetrate the bond. He needed to realize how bad of a situation we were in.
