I’ve needed you since last night, he linked, his tongue rolling over me again. But the witch is going to be here soon, so we need to be quick.
“Yes, please,” I moaned, not caring that I begged. I needed this connection with him. I moved my hands to his pajamas and pushed them down. He sprang out, hard and ready, and desire soared inside me.
He chuckled as he set my feet down and removed my boxers. Within seconds, he had me back in his arms, his tip at my entrance. I pressed against him, making him groan.
I need to make you ready. He guided his tip into my folds and circled it like he did with his hands, and soon, the friction had me writhing with need.
Both of us were so damn frantic for each other; my body was ready to explode. Now, please.
He thrust into me, our bond opening for one another. After all the deaths, the threats, and my injuries, we needed our souls to connect more than ever before. We normally didn’t do hard and fast, but today we were desperate. We both needed the release.
Each time he entered me, he hit deeper, and I rolled my hips against him. His mouth found mine as we kissed, not separating even when we got sloppy and fast.
Soon, we were both slick with sweat, our bodies in sync. His pleasure built, combining with mine, and orgasms ripped through us both. The ecstasy kept cresting as our bodies continued to move as one.
His body convulsed at the end of his own release, and soon, our frenzy ebbed away. He peppered kisses all over my face and remained inside me for a little longer.
I love you so much,he linked, pressing his forehead to mine.
I cupped his cheek and pushed my love for him through our bond.I love you too.
The sound of the front door opening reached me, and I glanced at the time.Bodey, it’s nine.
“Callie?” Dina called out.
“We’ll be down in a second,” I answered, my heart pounding.
Below, Jack said, “Come into the kitchen with Stevie and me. Those two have been busy this morning.”
Oh my gods. We’d been loud, and I hadn’t even considered Samuel and Stevie might hear us. I wanted to die, but the longer we took to get down there, the worse it would be.
Bodey and I rushed into our clothes and hurried downstairs. I was ready to hide, but Bodey was grinning like he’d won the lottery.
When we entered the kitchen, someone gasped. And when I saw the woman standing next to Dina by the Keurig, she dropped her mug.
CHAPTERTWENTY
Ceramic shattered, hitting the floor and scattering around her. However, her dark eyes didn’t move from mine as her tan complexion paled. From what I could tell, she was older, around the same age as the former advisors, with faint crow’s-feet at the corners of her dark-brown eyes.
Bodey edged in front of me, blocking me from her intense stare.
“Good thing I have shoes on.” Dina sighed and started picking up the pieces of the mug.
My attention darted to her feet, which were encased in brown leather boots. Her sky-blue dress hung down to the tops of them.
“Sorry.” The other woman, who I assumed was River, shook her head, her dark-brown hair swaying from side to side. “She looksjustlike him. It caught me off guard.” Her attention remained on me.
Stevie slid off the barstool. “I’ll get the broom and dustpan if someone will tell me where they are.”
“Mudroom,” Bodey answered, his voice a little tight. His worry swirled between us as he watched the witch with unease.
Running a hand over her dark-gray dress, Priestess River tilted her head. “It really is uncanny. Samuel looks nothing like him, but her…she’s the spitting image of Richard at that age.”
My breath caught. “You knew him?”
“His mother was from our pack’s coven, so he visited regularly when he was young.” She smiled sadly. “It was a terrible day when she died and he had to take the crown at thirty.”
Stevie hurried from the mudroom with the cleaning tools, and River and Dina moved out of the way, heading toward the den.
