Are we sure no humans will stumble across us?I asked Bodey.

The witches spelled the area to repel humans for miles.Bodey glanced at me.No one will come close until they take down the spells.

Theo and Zeke turned and saw me. They tensed, and then both of them marched toward us.

“What thefuckis she doing here?” Zeke rasped. “I didn’t grant her permission to be here. She needs to go.Now.”

I hadn’t considered how Theo and Zeke would react to my presence. I’d been so consumed by Bodey that I’d forgotten it might be an issue.

“You have no say over her anymore,” Bodey responded, his hand moving possessively to my waist as he lifted his chin.

The buzzing sensation between us increased, and my head spun. I stumbled, falling into him and sending a jolt of electricity up my spine.

“What did youdoto her?” Zeke pointed a finger at Bodey. “Did you drug her?”

CHAPTERTWENTY-NINE

The hatredin Zeke’s tone had the little girl in me wanting to bury my face in Bodey’s muscular chest. His arms were already around me protectively, and it’d be so easy and nice to fold completely into him.

Instead, I straightened and stared Zeke in the eye as he continued to march toward us.

By the time he was standing in front of us, my body had adjusted to the sizzle, which was a good thing. I wouldn’t be stepping away from my mate.

“He didn’tdrugme.” I enunciated every word to ensure there was no misunderstanding and to prove I wasn’t under any sort of influence…well, other than heightened hormones that made me want to strip Bodey naked in front of everyone and take him for the world to see.

But then they’d see him naked, which had my wolf growling.

I took it back. I was under the influence of horniness that couldn’t be satiated.

Lucas and Jack flanked Bodey while Samuel, Miles, and Stella came to my side, the six of us standing strong together. The advisers’ parents also hurried toward us.

I lifted my chin. “I’m still not used to the connection between Bodey and me.”

Eyes widening, Theo sniffed and gasped. “You mated withhim? You’re supposed to bemine.”

Bodey snarled and stepped toward him, releasing his arm from my waist. “Sheneverwas or will be yours.”

I caught his hand, not wanting this situation to implode. We were here for Samuel, not to announce our mateship.

Zeke’s neck corded, and his face turned red. He glared at Bodey’s and my connected hands.

“Wait.” Janet lifted a hand as she moved in front of Bodey. “What do you mean, your connection? How would that throw you off balance?” Her gaze flicked between Bodey and me.

I lifted our hands. “Whenever we touch.” My face flamed. I had no clue why she’d asked. The question felt oddly intrusive. Everyone here must have experienced the same thing with their mates. “Maybe it’s because I haven’t been able to pack link before, but whenever we touch, the sparks inside me catch me off guard.”

“Sparks?” She glanced at Michael. “That doesn’t happen when we touch.”

Stella inched forward so she could look around Samuel at me and asked, “Wait, that happens to you, too? I thought Miles and I were odd since no one else had experienced that. I assume it happens because we’re fated mates. We felt it the first time we touched, too, before we mated.”

My heart stopped, and Bodey’s fingers tightened on mine.

“That’s not possible.” Bodey turned to me. “We didn’t feel this until after we forged our bond last night.”

The air sizzled between us, sparking with the electricity.

“Her magic is still being freed,” Dina said from behind us. She appeared beside Jack, her eyes locking with ours. “You completed the mate bond—and the exchange of blood for the claiming ritual—must have unblocked her magic. You couldn’t feel it until after you bonded, but you two are fated mates.”

Bodey touched my face, the zap coursing between us at the touch. He linked,I always felt like you were the one I was waiting for, and I was right.
