Do you feel that, too?I linked, moving my head so I could kiss him deeper. The buzzing whenever we touch?
Fuck yeah.He growled in his throat. It’s intoxicating, mixed with how you feel, taste, and smell.
“I’m here with the dresses,” Stella called from the hallway, getting closer.
We stopped kissing, but our bodies were still touching. I couldn’t bring myself to step away.
He growled as he took a step back, his irises glowing, and moved to the door. When he opened it, Stella stood there in a strappy burgundy dress that hugged her body, with a deepVthat cut between her breasts. The gown was floor length, and her hair was pulled back and fell down her back in supertight curls. Her lips were painted a deep red that complemented the dress, and the rest of her makeup was so natural, you’d think she hadn’t put any on, except for the hint of dark mascara on her eyelashes and the trace of blush on her cheeks.
“You look amazing.” I wouldn’t be able to pull off that look even if I had my makeup with me.
She winked. “Girl, you will, too. Believe me, I brought enough shoes, dresses, and makeup to make sure you’re done up right.”
I nuzzled into Bodey’s arms, needing his comfort. I was putting all these people out so much. “You don’t—”
“Please.” She rolled her eyes. “Don’t say what I think you’re about to say. We are all thrilled that Bodey finally settled down. Out of all the guys, I was most worried about him. So, it’s an honor to have another female in the”—she raised her fingers in air quotes—“‘bachelor’s club.’” She lowered them. “Jack swore that when there was one more of us mates, he’d stop calling it that.”
I laughed, the noise catching me off guard. “I doubt he’ll keep his promise.” I believed he said things for the sake of saying them at times.
“We’re holding him to it.” She turned her gaze to Bodey. “And you’re going to have to pry your body off hers. I’ve set up shop in the room next door, per Samuel’s instructions.”
Samuel.
I cringed. I hoped he hadn’t heard us having sex this morning. Lost in all things Bodey, I’d forgotten he was here.
Leaning down, Bodey kissed me. I was pretty sure he’d meant to be quick, but then he growled and slipped his tongue into my mouth. The buzzing intensified, and magic pulsed through me, stronger than last night. My wolf surged into my head, enjoying his touches as much as I was.
Stella cleared her throat. “Guys, I get it. I’ve been newly mated. But we’re going to be late, and Miles is getting stressed.”
Sighing, Bodey stepped away. “Only because it’s the coronation.” He circled me, his hand brushing my ass before he linked. We’ll have to make up for all the time our hands are off each other tonight.
The promise had desire pooling inside me.
He strolled back into the bathroom and shut the door loudly.
Stella looped her arm through mine. “Come on.”
I found three dresses on the bed. One was black and strapless, with a sweetheart neckline. Sequins were sewn from under the breast to the waist like a belt, and a fuchsia skirt flowed to the floor. The second dress was dark purple and shoulderless. The top was full of sequins, and the skirt was a little fuller, with sequins fading toward the bottom. The last dress was navy blue, also with a sweetheart bodice and a sheer top portion that went all the way to the collarbone. It beaded at the waist before falling to the floor.
When Bodey said she was bringing me something to wear, I hadn’t expected options. “These are gorgeous.”
She shrugged. “I wasn’t sure about your style, so I brought them all.”
“Are you sure you don’t mind me wearing one?” All three looked expensive, and I didn’t want to mess them up. “I don’t have a good track record with clothes lately.”
She waved a hand. “If the dress gets ruined, it’s not the end of the world. I promise. Besides, I have a knack for getting stains out. Otherwise, Miles would be running around with ketchup stains on his shirts all the time.”
I laughed. “He does put ketchup on his eggs.”
“It’s gross, right?” She wrinkled her nose. “But anyway, take your pick.”
I bit my bottom lip and decided to go with the one that drew me in the most, the black strapless dress with the fuchsia skirt. I lifted it, touching the material. It was smooth like silk.
“I would’ve picked the same one.” She nodded. “It’s going to make your eyes pop.”
Her validation made me even more certain.
“Let’s get you dressed and do your makeup.”
