Page 65 of Dirty Pucking Tease

"So, hockey, huh?" Alex asked.

"You seem surprised?"

"Everything about you surprises." His tone was a mixture of flirtatious teasing with a hint of lust. "You are unlike any girl I've ever met."

"You mean boring." I chuckled.

The ref's whistle blew, drawing our attention to the ice. The puck dropped, and their sticks crashed together, fighting for the little black piece of rubber. Jax's team, the Lightning, vs. the home team, the Huskies. The Lightning took possession of the puck, and everyone was in place as they flew down the ice toward the goal.

Cam and I shot up from our seats, screaming with the rest of the crowd. They passed the puck down the ice, managing to evade the opposing team. Owen passed the puck to Jax. Hedodged a player and took his shot, slamming the puck into the goal.

The crowds went crazy. That was one hell of a way to start the game, but too bad it didn't continue. By the end of the third period, the Lightning were so far behind that there was no catching up. I wasn't sure what changed, but it was obvious something had.

"So, what are the plans for tonight?" Alex asked as we made our way out of the arena.

"Typically, we'd go out with the team to celebrate their win," Cam answered. "But since they didn't win, I imagine there won't be a whole lot of that going on tonight."

"Okay," Alex sighed. "How about I take you two to dinner tonight?"

I nodded, a grin spreading across my face. "That sounds fun."

"Actually, I should check with Owen before I make plans," Cam said. Cam wasn't team Alex yet, and I couldn't understand why.

We made it back to the hotel, got checked in, and went our separate ways with a plan that Alex would pick me up at my room at six.

Staring into the hotel bathroom mirror, I was finishing my lip gloss when a knock sounded at the door.

"I'll get it," Cam said. Even though Owen told her they were hanging around the hotel, she'd decided to pass on dinner with Alex and me.

"It's okay. I'll get it." I stepped in front of her. "Don't wait up."

"You're coming back to this room tonight, right?"

I shrugged. "I hope not."

I could tell she wanted to stop me, but I flung the door open.

"Wow," Alex's eyes widened as his gaze trailed over me. "You look amazing."

"Thanks." I'd dressed in my sexist little black dress and strappy heels, hoping to impress him.

"Bye," I said, twisting to smile at Cam, and for the first time, she looked happy for me.

"What the fuck are you doing?" My gaze flashed forward to see Jax storming up, fist clenched at his sides. Owen and half his team were behind him.

"Woah, man," Alex held his hands out in front of him, sensing the aggression radiating off Jax. "We are..."

"You brought him here." Hurt and anger swirled in Jax's eyes as they flashed to me, and I instantly regretted the decision to let Alex come.

"I..." I didn't know what to say. I still didn't understand why I wouldn't bring him. Jax's gaze flicked from me to Cam standing in the doorway.

"Is this your room?" I opened my mouth to answer, but I realized he wasn't asking me. He was talking to Alex. "You're staying here with her?"

"Yes, but..."

"You're not fucking spending the night with her," Jax cut him off again.
