The bubble with three dots popped up immediately, like he already knew his response.
Jax: He would bore you to death.
Kaia: And you wouldn't?
Jax: He's not what you need.
Kaia: Tell me what I need, Jax.
Jax: Come find me, and I'll show you.
My gaze flashed up to Parker, who was watching the band. Parker and I were friends. There was a physical attraction, but that was where it fizzled out, and we both knew it. He was my new skating partner, and we were building a friendship, but there was no chemistry between us. Maybe there could have been if our first date hadn't gone so drastically bad, but that bridge had burned.
Trystan's band finished their last song, and the crowd went wild with excitement. They announced their tour with Wicked Sinners and exited the stage for the next band.
"I'm going to grab a bite to eat," Parker shouted over the crowd. "You wanna come?"
I shook my head. "No, I'm going to head back to camp." I didn't give him a reason because I didn't want to lie.
"Do you need me to walk you?"
"No, go eat. I'll catch up with you later."
Parker disappeared into the crowd, and I headed toward the campground.
Kaia: Where are you?
This was a big place, and there was no way I could find him if he didn't tell me. I stared at my phone, waiting for a response, but it never came. He'd left me on read.
Fingers wrapped around my wrist, and I balled my fist, ready for a fight, but when he jerked me around, slamming me into his chest, a smile spread across my face. "I'm right here." It was Jax. "Dance with me."
My skin prickled as his fingers skimmed the bare flesh of my waist, and I closed my eyes as heat flooded my body, settling between my legs. How did he have so much power over my body? He made me feel things I didn't know I could feel.
His hips swayed to the music as one hand slid down, gripping my ass tightly and pulling me flush against him. We were lost in the middle of a massive crowd covered in darkness.
"Are you going to tell me what I need?" I couldn't help the curiosity lingering in my thoughts.
His hand wrapped tightly around the back of my neck with his thumb under my jawline, holding me in place. Eyes locked on mine, he dropped his lips to mine as his thumb stroked my throat. "You need to be kissed so hard that you can't breathe, your body trembles, and your knees buckle."
I opened my mouth, but his mouth slammed into mine, literally siphoning the air from my lungs. His mouth moved slowly, like he was savoring the taste of my lips. His tongue slipped through my parted lips, tasting and teasing mine, and my heart pounded against my chest as the kiss turned desperate and frantic. His hand tightened around my jaw as he kissed megreedily, thrusting his tongue in and out of my mouth in intense, passionate strokes. My body trembled against his, and my knees felt weak. He drew my bottom lip between his teeth, sucking on the tender flesh.
I pulled out of the kiss, gasping for air as his lips trailed over my jawline. "You need to feel a flutter here," he whispered as his fingers trailed over my stomach, moving down slowly. "And heat here." His hand cupped me through my pants. My thighs clenched tightly to try to alleviate the pressure building.
My phone vibrated, and I pulled it out as his teeth raked down my throat. It was Syn, and they were looking for us.
"It's Syn," I breathed. "They are looking for us." He groaned against my heated skin before his head dropped to my shoulder.
"Let's go," he mumbled. "Before they hunt us down."

After three rounds of shots celebrating Trystan and his band's success, I called it a night, and Cam decided to stay with Trystan. I didn't blame her. Tonight was our last night of Rock Fest, and Twisted Rage would be leaving tomorrow to tour with Wicked Sinners for eight weeks. There was no telling when the next time she'd see him would be or who he'd be when he came back. The world of fame could change a person.
Staring into the darkness of my tent as I listened to the raindrops trickle around me, I settled into my side, adjusting my pillow until I was comfortable. My phone vibrated next to me, lighting up the tent.
It was Jax.
Jax: Are you awake?
