"Yeah, Cam and I will be there with everyone else." I exhaled.
"Cool, there's an after-party," he said. "You and Cam should come."
"We kind of already have plans." I sighed, passing the blunt back to him. "I promised I'd go to the Cages with her."
"The Cages?" he repeated, raising a brow. I nodded. "Kai, the Cages can be dangerous."
"I know," I said, sucking in a deep breath, "but I'm not going to let her go alone, and you know Cam, if she wants to do something, there's no talking her out of it."
"Well," he said, passing the blunt back. "Tell her I personally invited her to the after-party to hang out with me."
"Are you actually going to hang out with her?" I asked, my brows pinching. Trystan had never shown any interest in Cam; actually, he went out of his way to avoid her.
His lips curled into a grin. "I guess you'll have to invite her and see." If he was only inviting her to keep her away from the Cages and planned to lead her on to do that, I didn't want to be part of that.
"You know you could call her and invite her."
"You know me better than that, Kai." He laughed. "I don't call girls."
We sat on the pool's edge until the blunt was gone, and I was higher than a kite. My sides and cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. Trystan and I always got along the best out of everyone, even Harlow and Syn. Trystan was hard not to get along with, though. He was so laid back and easygoing all the time. I'd only seen him mad once in all the years I'd known him.
He flipped his phone over, and the screen lit up. "Shit," Trystan muttered. "I have to go."
"Have fun," I said as my eyes rolled and I eased my back onto the concrete pool patio deck. "I'll be here." My gaze flicked up to the sky as I threw my arms over my head. "Counting stars."
"Yeah," Trystan said, drawing out the word. He didn't seem even half as high as I was. "I can't leave you here like this."
"I got her," Jax said. My head twisted, and my gaze flicked over to see Jaxtyn beside Trystan. It was like he appeared from thin air.
"She's high, man," Trystan said, pushing up to his feet. "Like really high."
"Go," Jax said, nodding towards the door. "So you're not late."
Trystan disappeared, leaving Jax and me alone.

Sucking in a breath, my gaze traveled down the length of her laid out on the pool patio. The white towel lay loosely around her, revealing a small amount of tanned skin and a tiny black bikini.
"How much did you smoke?" I asked, leaning over her and grabbing her hand.
"Um…" She chuckled. "I don't know."
"Come on." I smiled, pulling her to her feet. "Let's get you inside."
"Wait," she said. "I was getting in the hot tub."
"Well, then, let's get in the hot tub."
We walked around the pool, and she dropped her towel on the patio table. Biting down on my bottom lip, my gaze raked over her almost naked body. The curves of her waist, the roundness of her ass, her full tits in the tiny black top, every inch of her made my hands twitch with a need to touch her.
"What are you doing home?" she asked, climbing over the edge and slipping into the bubbling water.
"I was hoping I could hang with you tonight," I said, sinking into the water across from her. "I owe you an apology for this morning. I'm really sorry, Kai."
"It's okay." She smiled, shrugging her bare shoulders. "It's not a big deal."
"No, it is a big deal," I said. "It's a really big fucking deal. I panicked and said something I didn't mean, and I really need to stop doing that."
