"Do you want me to date both of you?"

"No," he choked out. "I don't want to share you with anyone but..." He sucked in a deep breath and slowly exhaled. "I also want you to be 100% sure before you make your choice, and if that means you need to date both of us, then I won't punch him in the face again."

"Again?" I snapped. "You punched him in the face?"

"Yeah." He nodded. "It happened a week or so before your accident. I can tell you what happened, or you can let Alex tell you his side of the story."

I shook my head. "I want to move forward. If my memories come back, then we'll deal with it, but right now, I just want to move on."

His lips curled into a smirk. "What about Alex?"

"I'm going to text him tomorrow."

"What about Parker?" His brows furrowed, and there was something in his tone—worry, anger, aggravation. I couldn't quite put my finger on what, though.

"I need to text him too. I owe him an explanation."

"You don't owe him shit," Jax fumed. "And..."

"Jax," I cut him off. I had no idea what had gotten into him. Had I been dating Parker, too? "I don't want to date him, but we are partners."

"Kai," he said, pushing to a sitting position. "Did no one tell you who caused the accident?"

I shrugged. "Jax, it was an accident. I know every time I put my skates on and hit the ice, there was a chance something could happen, but it's no one's fault."

"You're right," he said. "In every sport, there's a chance of injury, but it increases by one hundred percent when your partner comes to practice after an all-night rager, still drunk."

My face twisted with confusion. "Wait, what?" My gaze flicked around the room, searching for any memories, but there was nothing. "He was drunk?" Had I known he was drunk? No. I shook my head. I never would have agreed to do lifts if I knew he was drunk. "How do you know?"

"Syn saw him at the party. She said he had to have gone straight from the party to practice."

"Why would he do that?" My chest tightened. "He's one of the best skaters alive. He knows better than that." My gaze flashed up to meet his, and I suddenly realized what was going on in the hospital. "That's why everyone was fighting when I woke up."

He nodded. "If I ever get my hands on him, I will kill him."

"Petrov will end his career if she finds out." If I didn't realize he was drunk, Petrov probably didn't either. Still, Parker would never skate professionally again if it ever came out.

"Petrov came up to check on you a couple times, and she knows what happened."

"You told her?"

He shook his head. "Syn did. She let Petrov have it. Told her if she couldn't tell that Parker was drunk, she should retire."

"I must not have realized either." I shook my head. "I just can't imagine letting him lift me knowing he was drunk."

"I don't know what you knew, and I don't care. Parker knew, and Petrov should have known." I mentally scratched Parker from my call list. I needed to remember before I dealt with him.

"Can we watch the movie now?" I sighed, both emotionally and mentally drained. I settled back into the couch and waited for Jax to settle before curling into his side as he flicked on the movie.

Not even ten minutes into the movie, we were both asleep.

Sitting in a dark corner booth in the back of the bar, I waited for Alex. I was early, but that didn't stop me from staring at the front door. I had no idea what I was going to say to Alex. How did I explain to someone I was close to that I didn't remember anything about them?

All I remembered was Jax.

I ran my sweaty palms down my jeans to stop my leg from rapidly bouncing up and down. The front door swung open, and Alex walked through. Whatever had been between us must have been good because I smiled, sucking in a deep breath like his presence sucked every ounce of oxygen out of the room at the sight of him. It could also be because he was crazy hot.
