"You really want to know?" I nodded, and he slid around behind me before sliding in front of me, his hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me up so that my legs wrapped around his waist, and I slid my arms around his neck as he glided to a stop just before we hit the glass wall of the penalty box. "I'm not interested in Cam or any other girl." Pressing me tightly between him and the glass, he brushed his lips against mine, and I wasn't sure if we were still playing the game anymore. "You, Kai," he breathed. "I like you." My mouth went dry. If this was part of the game, it was so many levels of fucked up, but I didn't care.
His heated, labored breathing fanned across my lips, sending chills soaring over my skin. My heart pounded, and my stomach fluttered with anticipation. I thought he was going to kiss me, but he didn't. His grip loosened, and he dropped my skates to the ice.
He spun and skated away, leaving me completely confused. Was that real? Or was he still playing the game?
I should have let it go, but I couldn't. I was tired of the game. I was tired of feeling confused when it came to him because anytime he opened up to me, he shut down just as fast.
"No," I growled, shoving against the ice and racing toward him. "You don't get to do that anymore, Jax." I circled around him.
"What is that, Baby Cruz?" He groaned. Wow, we'd gone all the way back to Baby Cruz.
"Don't do that," I snapped. "Don't say shit like that to me and then push me away."
He slid into my space, pressing his face against mine. "What should I do, Kai?" he breathed, but his tone was colored with both anger and lust. "Should I tell you every disgustingly dirty thought I've ever had about you?" He dropped to his knees, pulling my skates out from under me but caught me before my ass hit the ice and pulled me onto his lap. "Or should I rip your clothes off right here and fuck you like I've dreamed of for years." I sucked in a sharp breath as heat bloomed over my chest and face. He leaned forward, laying me on the ice and climbing over me. The cold, wet ice seeped through my clothes.
"Jax," I croaked.
"What, Kai?" he breathed against my lips, pressing his hips into mine. My fingernails dug into the thin material of his t-shirt. "Should I tell you how badly I want to taste every inch of your body?" His lips raked over my jawline and down my throat. I whimpered when he pressed his hip harder into mine, letting me feel every inch of him. "How badly I want to see what you look like when I make you come."
"Jax," I moaned.
He stopped, pushing to his knees. "This can't happen, Kai. We live together. We will be in each other's lives forever, and if this goes bad, there's no escaping each other. Imagine how our parents would feel."
At that moment, I realized what I needed from Jax.
"Jax," I said, leaning up on my elbows. "I'm not looking to get married. I'm not even sure I want a boyfriend. I want to lose my virginity to someone I trust because I'm scared."
"That's what this is about?" he asked, his gaze softening.
"Until a few days ago, I'd never done anything with a guy," I said. "And with you, everything is so easy." He always took control, making me feel so comfortable. "I know I could have lost it with some random stranger, but I'm scared." I blew out a long, dramatic sigh as my chest and cheeks heated with embarrassment. "It's okay if you need to think about it."
"You want me to fuck you, no strings attached. So that you can lose your virginity and fuck other guys?"
"Yeah, basically." I shrugged.
"Why me?" he asked, his brows pinching together.
"Because you're so confident with yourself and so comfortable with casual sex. I trust you."
His gaze lingered on me for a long, uncomfortable moment.
"Come on." He sighed, pushing to his feet and pulling me with him. "Let's go home and sober you up, and then we can revisit this later."
"I'm not drunk, Jax. I didn't realize it before, but this is what I need. I need to be with someone who will teach me." He ran a hand down his face.
"I don't know, Kai." Sighing, I nodded. "Let's go home."

It was game day, the first game of the season.
Coach Tomas was pumping the team up, and all I could think about was whether or not Kaia and Cam made it. Sitting on the wooden bench in front of my locker, I pulled out my phone and clicked on Kaia's name.
Jaxtyn: How do you like the seats?
I stared at the phone, my leg bouncing as I waited for the bubble to pop, and it did almost immediately.
Kaia: I can almost smell the sweat and blood.
