“So, what do we do now?” I ask.
“We go home?”
“Actually,” Gnash follows us out of the church with Drario close behind. “We have a surprise.”
Gnash and Drario drive us to a beautiful new modern home near a river. They lead us out of our cars and smile.
“Welcome to your new home.” Gnash presents a set of keys.
“I… What?” Mace can’t seem to process what’s happening.
“This new home is for the two of you,” Drario says. “Paid for by the Sand Sky Clan. As a thank you, for everything.”
I don’t know what to say, I never expected any of this. I only get more overwhelmed as we get the tour. It’s the perfect place for Mace and I to start our lives together.
“We’ve already taken the initiative to move all your stuff in,” Gnash says. “You two can start living here immediately.”
“All our stuff? Clothes and everything?” I ask.
“Yeah, we-”
“Good!” I race off to the bedroom. I love this dress and I know I look gorgeous, but God these heels are killing me and I want to have full range of motion again in my legs. I’m ready to be in something more comfortable.
Mace seems to have the same idea as he follows me. He looks very handsome in his suit, but I know for a fact that he’s uncomfortable. It’s far too fancy for his liking.
“We’ll just wait here… I guess,” Drario calls out.
As soon as we’re in the bedroom, I start getting out of the dress. I carefully unzip and shimmy myself out before hanging it up properly.
“Keep it in your pants, Mace. We have guests.” I don’t even have to turn around to know he’s been watching me with a big grin. I quickly toss on a shirt and some pants. “I need to get this make-up off, don’t let Gnash or Drario leave before I can come out and thank them both again.
“Sure thing.” Mace takes off his suit. I return the favor of checking him out as he does. That’s my husband. He tosses on some casual clothes and heads back to our guests.
I step into our absolutely stunning new master bathroom. If I wasn’t so exhausted from the excitement of today, I’d take it in more. But right now, I just want this make-up off.
Once my face is cleaned, I re-join Mace with Gnash and Drario. I catch them in mid-conversation.
“She really is perfect for you, Mace.” Gnash pats him on the back.
“Congratulations,” Drario adds.
“Boys, thank you again for this beautiful house.” I step in the room with a big smile.
“Anything for you two. Now, why don’t we get out of your hair, and let you enjoy this house.” Drario leads Gnash out of the house.
Mace and I follow. He wraps an arm around me as we watch our friends hop in their cars. In this new house, I still feel all the love from the church. How did I get so lucky?

MACE
We wave our friends goodbye and look back at our new home. I wrap my arm around Mckenna as the sun begins to dip beneath the horizon. I could get used to this.
“So…” Mckenna’s hand finds its place on the small of my back. “We’re alone… And have this whole place to ourselves…” Her hand glides down until she’s grabbing my butt.
“Hmm…” I look down at her and grin. “I’m sure we can find something to do.”
Mckenna hops up into my arms, wrapping her legs around my waist and arms around my neck. I grab her butt to help support her as I carry her towards our new home. I squeeze her butt just to hear her giggle.
