Shayla shook her head. "No, I mean, what if we got a command analysis of everything that was put into the dart. We can get each ingredient even down to the element. If we know what it's made of, we can look to see what companies use all of them together. The killer will most likely have been there. The antidote could be there."

"That's a lot of ifs, Shayla."

"It's a possibility." She snapped back. "I've seen many try to do it the way you are, and they all fail. You never have enough time to get it together before it's too late."

Gil ran a hand through his hair, "Fine. We need the poison analysis then."

Shayla turned, going back through the doors until she walked into the room Tyson was in. He was hooked up to an iv, and wires sticking out of him. He was still shaking, with his hands clutching tightly onto the sheets.

Tyson looked at her, and her heart ached. She bit her lip, looking at the doctor. "I need the poison compounds."

The doctor looked at her, confused.

"Shayla," Tyson whispered at her, and she walked over towards him. She reached for his hand, squeezing his fingers tightly.

"I'm right here, Tyson. You're going to be ok."

Tyson shook his head. "Shayla... I need to tell you."

Shayla shook her head, "Stop." She felt tears building up once more. "You're going to be fine. This is all going to be a funny story at one point. We will laugh about this in the future."

Tyson jerked, and the nurse said something about injecting a sedative. Shayla wiped her eyes once more.

"Let me..." Tyson ground his teeth together.

Alarms blared, and Shayla looked up at his monitor. The nurse yelled now. "We need to sedate him. His heart rate is going too fast."

Shayla looked at Tyson, who was taking a deep breath in. "Shayla...if I don't make it."

"Stop." She yelled.

He continued, "If I die.. "

"Stop it." She cried now, "You're not dying."

His eyes locked on hers, and he grabbed her hand gently. His fingers were tight against hers. "If I do...I want you to know I love you."

Shayla's eyes widened, and his fingers went slack. Her heart plummeted in her chest, and she quickly covered her mouth.

"He's sedated." The nurse spoke up, pulling a needle out of his iv, "But he's got five hours tops before we can't help him anymore."

Shayla stared at him, watching his face relax for the first time in over an hour. She wanted to scream. She wanted to rip the entire world apart.

But she knew that wasn't going to save him. She needed a clear head, and she needed the poison compound. She turned, looking at the doctor with a new rage. "The compounds?" She asked with a bite behind it.

The doctor handed her a paper, and she turned, storming out of the room. The soft beep of Tyson's heart monitor was the only sound she heard.

She placed the paper down on the table in the lab, and she stared at the elements. She was good at this part of her job. She could do this.

Gil stood across the table, writing down the business she said. After some time, they started crossing off the ones that wouldn't work.

They were left with two.

"Xanders Pharmaceuticals. This could be the one. They would have everything you need for poison, and it wouldn't be hard to hide." Gil pulled up the building on his phone.

"Records?" Shayla asked.

He shook his head, "Doesn't look like they have any. Why does that matter?"
