“Hey.”
“We had an issue, but it’s been taken care of.”
“Eddie?”
“Yeah. High as a fucking kite. Darryl caught him and two of his buddies in the restroom snorting lines.”
“Did you call Daddy?”
“I was going to ask if you wanted me to get him involved. You know Eddie’s gonna go cry to Daddy about us picking on him.”
“I’ll handle Micky in the morning. Put Eddie and his friends on the no admittance list and share their images with your staff.”
What a waste of a human being. Micky’s gotta realize Eddie isn’t capable of keeping his illegal businesses under the radar. Eddie’s more likely to get caught with his crimes, whereas Micky’s damn good at covering up whatever the hell he deals in.
It’s the unpredictability in Eddie that makes him more dangerous. He thinks he’s invincible and won’t get caught, whereas Micky isn’t looking for attention. He does his illegal shit on the down low.
I strip off my soaked shirt as soon as I step into my apartment and head for my kitchen, downing a glass of water. I fill my glass again and head to my bathroom to take a shower. Not bothering with clothes after I’m dry, I throw back my blankets and climb into bed naked.
When I pull up the covers, they brush against my dick, and I instantly think of Nora. Of her laugh, of the sweet way she holds my hand, of the way she bites her lower lip when she’s nervous.
My dick twitches remembering too well how her mouth tastes. How her pussy tastes. How my name sounds when she calls out during her orgasm. I fist my dick and stroke it as I think about her breasts. How her hard, perky nipples respond to my tongue.
It doesn’t take me long to find release. Hell, that last thing I need is to be jerking off thinking about a woman who lied to me from the moment we met. Not even the fucking dog is hers.
I whip off the covers and clean up in the bathroom, then tug on a pair of shorts before crawling back into bed.
CHAPTER ELEVEN
I’m so happy to seeLenora again. As soon as her Uber dropped her off at the doorstep, I had her in my arms, hugging the crap out of her.
“I missed you, girlfriend.” Lenora kisses both my cheeks and lugs a suitcase behind her.
I take her other suitcase and follow her up the brownstone steps. Once inside, she hugs me again and traps my cheeks in her hands.
“You look like shit.”
