My hand is twined with his, the other stuck in my sling. So I can’t do anything but lift my chin to meet his kiss.
His lips are warm and full. He tangles his fingers in my hair, pulling me forward.
My newly freed hand grabs his lapel, holding on.
He breaks the kiss, but doesn’t move too far back. Instead he leans his forehead against mine. “Maybe let’s not do this in the middle of the hallway.”
“Your place?” I ask.
He shakes his head with a grin. “Let’s go to yours. More privacy.”
“You’re so smart, Oppa,” I say, pulling him to my door.
He laughs as he brings my hand up to kiss my knuckles. “That’s why you love me.”
K-Pop Newsfeedarticle: “Bright Star Entertainment Announces They’re Going Public”
Bright Star Entertainment announced they are going public.
Recent successes highlighted in the announcement include the popularity of Robbie Choi’s self-produced mixtape, which was released earlier this fall, with one of the songs even hitting the iTunes chart, despite not being an official album.
The announcement also included the success of Bright Star’s breakout rookie group, Kastor. The girl group’s first mini album broke debut records as the largest first day sales by a debut girl group. Kastor has already been nominated for multiple Rookie of the Year awards.
There is one mystery in Bright Star, however: Where is Shin Hyeri?
The rookie actress was a huge rising star earlier this year, even winning the Entertainment Newcomer of the Year award for her appearance on the variety showOur Celebrity Marriagewith WDB’s Moonster. There were rumors she would be cast inMusical Dreams, but Bright Star released a statement last month disputing it. Since then, Bright Star has not announced any future projects for the young star. And Shin Hyeri has not been seen in public since she finished her stint onOur Celebrity Marriageearlier this month.
Fans have taken to forums to share theories that perhaps she was more injured while defending Kim Ana from an attack by a sasaeng fan at the Hallyu Wave Awards at the end of the summer. Kim Ana—who is taking time off due to anxiety—did post a message of appreciation for Shin Hyeri after the ordeal, dispelling the longtime rumors of a rivalry between the girls.
Many fans are hoping for Shin Hyeri’s good health and sending her encouraging messages to come back as soon as she’s able!
In the meantime, most are waiting impatiently for WDB’s comeback schedule. Many speculate that the comeback dates will be announced right before Bright Star Entertainment officially goes public later this month.
The heat of summer has left Seoul. Autumn has taken its place with changing leaves and cooling winds.
Korean universities have started up again. The campus of Chung-Ang University sits below the Han River and boasts beautiful greens, lovely trees, and state-of-the-art facilities.
A student named Jo Mikyoung races out of her class, almost bumping into a pretty girl with a face mask on. The girl’s cap falls off, revealing long dark locks that fall in satin waves.
Mikyoung hurries to pick up the cap, bowing low in apology. She’s still just a first-year and is horrified at the idea that she might have slammed into an upperclassman in her major.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
“It’s okay. I was spacing out myself.” The girl smiles at her, eyes crinkling above the black face mask. She accepts the cap with thanks.
“Oh my god,” Mikyoung stammers. “You’re Shin Hyeri.”
“Oh.” Hyeri’s eyes widen with surprise.
“Sorry, I know we’re not supposed to bother you here,” Mikyoung says quickly. “I’m in the Department of Film Studies with you. We have some classes together and the professors made that announcement at the beginning of the semester.”
Hyeri grimaces in embarrassment. “I wish they hadn’t. By saying not to make it a big deal…”
“They made it a big deal,” both girls say together. Then burst into laughter.
“Well, maybe I’ll see you in our next class.” Hyeri makes her way down the stairs.
Mikyoung stares after her, wondering if her friends will ever believe her if she tells them she just met the actress Shin Hyeri.
