His uncle is dead, but what about his parents? Since he doesn’t seem that fond of this house, wouldn’t he let them live here if they were alive?
Ben hoped the subject might come up naturally so he wouldn’t have to ask. He knew very little about Adam’s personal life. In the three years he’d been with the company, he had never seen Adam with a date, which had led him to simply assume the handsome man was straight. Had Adam been trying to keep that part of his life private, or had there just not been anyone special? Adam’s comment about men trying to get into his pants to get to his wallet floated back to Ben. Was that truly the reality for the wealthy man?
“Good morning,” Adam said from the doorway.
Ben turned to look at his handsome boss, who wore a similar robe in a darker color. “Morning.” He strode across the room to meet Adam, but he didn’t get a chance to say anything else.
Adam cupped his face and drew him into a kiss. As the embrace deepened, Adam untied their robes and brought their bodies back together. He grasped both of their cocks in his hand as he drew back to look at Ben. “Thought you might want to shower before breakfast,” Adam said.
“Among other things,” Ben said as he pressed closer.
They made their way into the bathroom, and Adam turned on the shower before they both shed their robes. The water warmed up soon enough, and Ben dragged the other man in with him, pushing him against the wall and sliding two fingers along his crack.
“This okay?” Ben asked.
“Fuck, yes.”
Ben knelt, pleased by the very loud gasp that came from Adam when Ben briefly rimmed him. He then used a little soap to ease his entry, and the scent of sage and lemongrass surrounded them as he fucked Adam up against the shower wall. Ben held Adam close as the billionaire trembled. They came within moments of each other, and Adam craned his neck to kiss Ben just after they did. They both leaned against the wall for a while, panting.
As they cleaned themselves off, Adam kept reaching out to touch and kiss him. Last night had changed everything, and not just because the sex had been so good. The image of the spoiled, distant playboy had faded, and the vulnerable man before him was what Ben was left with. Knowing what to say to the other man suddenly felt ten times harder.
Once they were clean and dry, they made their way down to the kitchen, where Adam refused to allow him to help. Ben sat at the island with a cup of coffee, watching Adam move around the large kitchen.
“I … well, I just assumed because of your last name that you grew up rich. I don’t know as much about the company as I thought I did,” Ben said. “Or about you.”
Adam pulled out plates and silverware. “It’s fine. I’m used to those kinds of assumptions. I guess they bothered me because I felt they were keeping you from forgiving me for last Friday.”
“How many people work for you?”
“Around three hundred, but you are directly under me now. I should’ve recognized you.” He set a place in front of Ben and then one for himself in front of the next stool. “Though I will say I like the glasses. Make you look handsome.”
Ben pushed them up his nose. “Thanks. Sometimes I don’t wear them out to clubs. If the dancing gets too wild, they could get broken. And I can’t drive without them.”
“You do lots of clubbing?” Adam asked as he brought platters of bacon, eggs, and sausage to the table. He added a rack of toast and a dish of butter before he fixed his own cup of coffee and sat down.
“Depends. When I’m single, I usually go out every weekend.”
Adam buttered a slice of toast. “You still consider yourself single after last night?”
Ben helped himself to some eggs and two slices of bacon before he looked over at Adam. “Uh, I’d say we’re involved, but I am not your boyfriend simply because we fucked.”
Adam seemed to consider this as he sipped his coffee. “I feel like we did more than fuck. Last night was nothing like I expected. It started with lust, but I feel like it quickly turned into more.”
Ben thought about denying that but found he couldn’t. “It was intense.”
Adam elbowed him to get his attention. “Look, I’m not going to get weird on you or anything. I’m not going to try to move you in here or start watching you at work, but what you said last night stuck with me. About you challenging me. It’s been impossible to meet anyone since taking over when my uncle got sick. I’m tired of bullshit.”
“Bullshit? As in men bending over backwards so they can sleep here and eat in fancy restaurants and be taken care of?”
“For the most part, yes, but also just being alone because people don’t even know how to act around me. I’d step down and take a lower position if I wasn’t worried someone else might fuck up what my uncle built. I’m proud of his work and legacy.”
“This won’t work out if it’s built around you being lonely. I don’t mean that to sound harsh, but it’s true. You can’t force that stuff.”
“Asking you to spend time with me and give me a chance isn’t forcing it.”
Ben sighed. “And that’s not what I meant.” He looked down at his untouched food. “Don’t you get that this is a bit weird for me? I basically had a crush on you. Didn’t know if you were straight or gay, kept trying not to think about you. And then there was last Friday and that rollercoaster of emotions. Followed by you sucking me off in your office on Monday.”
“It’s weird for me, too, but I won’t give up unless you say you don’t want to be with me.” Adam pushed his plate away. “You have all the power here. You could cause a lot of trouble for me. What I did on Monday was wrong, even though I don’t regret it.”
