Billy tilted his head and looked at Jake quizzically.
“I don’t understand your obsession with him…,” Liam said.
Antonia snorted. “Me either.”
“You’re both questioning me, but it’s me that’s got us this far,” Billy said.
“It’s just he’s a no one.” Liam said.
“I am right here.” Jake said.
“Unfortunately.”
Billy turned to Liam. “What did you want?”
Liam looked down the ward. “I still don’t think it’s a good idea to talk here.”
“I don’t care what you think. Speak.”
“I found the safe.”
Antonia’s eyes widened, then she clapped in excitement. “The safe?”
“Yeah, the one in his apartment.”
Billy pinched the top of his nose. “You said you’d searched that place over and over. You said Lewis must’ve been lying.”
“I finally found it. Digital lock, heavy bolt, and hidden away.”
Antonia smiled, showing off her dazzling teeth. “My time to shine.”
Billy shook his head. “We don’t need the safe.”
“The diamond?”
“It isn’t necessary.”
“You promised.”
Billy pointed at her ear. “You’ve got two.”
“I want three. It’s the ultimate humiliation.”
“We don’t need to humiliate him anymore. We’ve destroyed him. He’s finished.”
“He tried to kill you.”
Billy shot a venomous look Antonia’s way. “And he got punished for that attempt. He has no one on the outside working for him now and nothing to live for. He’s done.”
“Then he won’t be needing that diamond.”
Billy groaned and flung himself back dramatically. “Are you single, Jake?”
“What?”
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
“Oh, no…I don’t’ think so…”
