With shaking hands, she sets the phone down on her lap and reaches for the tablet, her eyes zipping down the page before it’s even in her hands.
She’s silent for a long time, then says, “They think you kidnapped me.”
“Technically we did,” Jax calls out from his spot beneath Dani. Jax is big on words and knowledge, but sometimes he's too literal to be of any help. This seems to be one of those times. Thank fuck he yielded the leadership to me.
“I wanted to come with you,” Sin argues, pushing the tablet back at me and shaking her head.
“Whatever the case, they’re trying very hard to find you. As we knew they would.” I take a deep breath to steady myself. She still doesn't know the worst of it. I still have to tell her.
Sin turns away from me, and her eyes seek out Dani’s. “Do they know you…?”
I’m the one to answer. After all, it’s my job to lead this pack and thus this conversation. “As far as we can tell, the OA has no idea Dani was involved. They’re holding Pack James for questioning, though. They were the ones who—"
“I know who Pack James is," she snaps, her eyes flashing with steel. "Will they give you away?”
“They don’t know enough to tell even if they wanted to. And I’m sure they do. Want to. But Levi was careful when interacting with them, and they have no ties to the rest of us.”
Sin shakes beside me as the news sinks to her bones. "Is there anything else?" she asks in a dry rasp.
Suddenly my lips are dry as I prepare to tell her the worst of it. “There’s a reward for your capture and safe return, and it’s a big one.”
“Money?” she asks, tilting her head. She looks as though she's about to cry. I wonder if she already suspects.
“That's part of it, yes," I admit, then flick through the membership portal until I find the official announcement from the Omega Alliance.
She grabs the tablet from me, and I watch as her eyes dart back and forth across the screen, taking in every last word. And I can tell the exact moment she reaches the part I've been dreading.
She blinks hard, pulls the tablet closer to her face, clears her throat, and reads, "For the safe return of our omega, the Alliance is willing to offer the following: amnesty for any culpability inher kidnapping, a stipend of five hundred thousand dollars per year, and exclusive conjugal rights to Sin granted once weekly in perpetuity. Please help us bring our girl home safe and sound.” She lowers the tablet and glances around the room at each of us. No one else is willing to meet her eyes, so I take that burden upon myself.
"Are they really offering…?" Her words trail off.
"Sex. With you. Weekly. Yes," I say, but even I'm having a hard time getting the words out.
"But I've never…" She hums a beat in frustration. "I've never been with a m—" She stops and amends, "I've never been withanyonelike that. They can't just offer my virginity up on a silver platter like that."
"Unfortunately, they already have," Jax interjects, and I shoot him a warning glance.
"That only happens if you get returned to the Alliance, Sin." I put my hand on her arm, willing my words to sink deep, for her to understand the intensity of my promise. "We won't let anyone take you back to that awful place. When we took you, we claimed you as ours. You're pack now, and Pack Thorin always protects its own."
Sin pushes off the chair and stalks across the room. "You claimed me?" she challenges, turning back sharply to stare me down. "I don't remember giving my consent. If you really think I belong to you now, then you're every bit as bad as the Alliance was. I'm still a prisoner, just with new captors."
Dani rushes to Sin's side and attempts to calm her with a hug. "It's not like that. Kieran didn't mean—"
"No," Sin barks, pushing Dani away. "No. I thought you said I had a choice? That it was up to me whether I stayed with you? All of you said that, but I guess those were just pretty words, huh?”
"It is up to you," I shout out, my voice echoing across the room. "But you don't have any other good options. We will loveand protect you. We will take care of you. Would you rather return to the Alliance? You saw their plans for your return. Is that what you want for your future?"
Sin wraps her arms around herself and scowls. “Honestly? I don't know what I want anymore,” she says before stalking up the stairs and slamming the door behind her.

SIN
The Omega Alliance has promised my virginity and regular conjugal visits—essentially scheduled gang rape—to whichever pack helps them “bring me home.”
Home.As if that prison could ever be home.
Their plea to my unknown kidnappers is that they return me so that others can watch and share in my debasement. The OA promises to not only offer my body up to this pack, but to make them stars in the process.
