I’msotiredafterour week away. We attended the award luncheon for Remington’s sister yesterday before packing up and coming home. Most of us slept in this morning, including Remy. In fact, I haven’t seen him at all today. I think he was in his suite with Eric, Milo, and Victoria.
Brooke and I step into the ballroom, snickering when I see we’re the last to arrive.
“I told you everyone else would beat us down here,” I tell her, and she rolls her eyes.
“I’m sorry. I just wasn’t feeling that dress tonight, and my green nails didn’t go with this dress.” She points to the turquoise dress that’s wrapped around her slender figure, and I have to give her that. The green would’ve totally clashed.
I knock her with my arm, still smiling. “I know, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to give you shit about it.”
“There you are.” Nikolai huffs. “What took you so long?”
I nod toward Brooke. “Her.”
“Look, beauty takes time. Just deal with it.” She turns her back on us as Alexei joins us.
“I like this dress,” he says.
I grin and spin in a circle, loving the way it fans out around me. It’s plum with a lighter purple lace at the bottom and hits me mid-thigh. It’s quite possible I just flashed my matching thong with that spin, but I don’t care.
“Looks nice,” Nikolai agrees.
“Thank you both. I really like it.”
Alexei leans forward. “Brooke, I like this dress, too. You look beautiful.”
She grins when she glances at him over my shoulder. “Thank you, Alexei. You’re sweet.”
“Sweet?” Alexei scoffs. “Should I have said she was hot? Would that make me less sweet?”
I snort, waving him off. “Are you trying to get in her pants?”
“What? No.” Alexei looks so confused that I can’t help laughing. “Why do you laugh?”
“You’re upset that she said you were sweet because you told her she was beautiful. She knows you’re not trying to sleep with her, so what do you expect? For her to throw herself at you?”
He considers that for a moment before shrugging. “I guess not.”
Brooke snickers as she moves back to my side. “You’re totally getting a red rose tonight.”
“You don’t know that, Brooke.” I sigh.
I’ve been trying not to get my hopes up. Thursday night with Remy, Milo, and Aubrey had been hot as hell. Having Remington and Milo fucking me at once was mind-blowing. Then having Aubrey fuck Remington into me while I sucked Milo’s cock.
Just thinking about it is getting me hot.
We’d spent the night in Remy’s room, only to be woken up by Victoria and Eric. That had been a little awkward for a moment or two, but we got over it. Victoria even invited me to get ready with her for the luncheon—and let me bring Brooke. On the bus ride home, he sat in the back with his pack mates as they talked.
He made a point of kissing me and Aubrey good night before they headed into his suite which was nice. But it doesn’t mean he’s choosing either of us for his pack.
“I’m so fucking nervous.”
I look up at Aubrey’s words, nodding my agreement. “Same.”
Brooke rolls her eyes. “I don’t know what the two of you are worried about. The last people he had sex with, he chose for his pack. It’s the rest of us who should worry.”
I know she means for her words to be reassuring, but she’s not helping. When Aubrey takes my hand, I look up in surprise.
“I could use the reassurance, as I’m sure you can,” he explains.
