“To do what? Babysit?” He rose to his feet, grabbing a piece of bacon. “Gotta run.”
“Sit!” Jaeger cried, his voice echoing.
Drake paused and turned toward the dragon.
“You look like hell.You just said you were exhausted.Sit down… eat… get a little strength and energy from the food.You get there when you get there.”
Drake chucked.“Who made you my mother?”
Jaeger glared.“We were stuck in that prison together for a long time. Are you really going to tell me you don’t consider me family at this stage? Because I sure as hell consider you my brother.”
Drake felt the warmth from the man’s words soul deep.
“If you won’t protect yourself… I will,” Jaeger said.“So sit your ass down. Eat. And I’m coming with you.”
Drake tried not to let the smile playing over his lips rise.He marched himself back to the table and took his seat.
“Now eat.”
Drake laughed.“Yes, Mom.”
