“Which is exactly my intention.”
With bags packed, Dawsey and I hit the road, driving east, and where we’re going dawns on me when we hit the Mississippi state line. “You’re taking me to Pascagoula.”
He shrugs. “Maybe. Maybe not. You’ll have to wait and see.”
“Did you book a night at The Seamark Inn?”
He shrugs again. “I don’t know. I guess you’ll have to wait and see.”
“You did. I know you did.” I grab Dawsey’s hand, lacing my fingers through his. “I didn’t bring the journals.”
He squeezes my hand. “I didn’t want you to bring the journals. Tonight isn’t about the past, my love. It’s about the present. And the future.”
“Still, you shouldn’t be surprised if the past comes through while we’re there. A lot of firsts happened during our former lives in that house. There’s a lot of nostalgia there.”
“I wonder if I’ll remember being there in the past.”
“Aha! I knew it.”
Dawsey groans. “Will I ever be able to keep anything from you?”
“Probably not but the same is true with me. I won’t be able to keep anything from you either.”
“I guess no surprise birthday parties in the future for us.”
“Probably not.” Fine by me. I don’t want one.
“The owner said we’ll be the only guests tonight. We’ll have the whole house to ourselves.”
“Nice. There are several bedrooms, but I’d like to stay in Augustina’s room on the third floor in the converted attic space if that’s okay.”
“That’s where you slept last time?”
“I did.”
“It doesn’t frighten you to stay in that room since it’s where you slipped into the coma?”
“I fell into the coma because I willed myself to go back and become Augustina. I immersed myself in her and had no interest in returning to my own life. I loved Frank, and I loved being his Gussy. I loved our children. Their children. I didn’t want to leave Frank and the kids behind because I had nothing to return to. I have you now. So, no, I’m not afraid that it’ll happen again.”
“I’m not afraid either, and I knew you’d be thrilled about it. That’s why I didn’t ask you before I booked the stay.”
This is so exciting. “What do you have planned for us to do while we’re there?”
“That part is a surprise, and you’re not getting it out of me.”
Has he met me? “I can get it out of you if I want. Don’t act like I can’t.”
“Forget about it. I’m a safe and you can’t crack me.”
I take my hand out of his and reach over, rubbing the top of his thigh. “All right. Challenge accepted.”
“What are you doing?”
“You know what I’m doing. I’ve just never done it in a moving vehicle while you were driving.”
My fingers inch higher up his leg and I trace the outline of his growing cock. “Ooh, you like that, don’t you?”
“What’s happening here?”
